Vitali was not out of gas at all. I have never see Vitali run out of gas in his entire career. I remember when that fight happened. Vitali never gets out of shape, not even between fights. Byrd even said that Vitali was harder to fight than Vlad. I was so happy that the surgery was successful. Very difficult surgery it was.............

What did he have when he fought him on short notice? Nothing. What did he have afterwards? A victory.

Byrd knows it was not a victory. It was only a win because of the injury and that's all it was. Byrd went on to lose two times vs. Vlad being totally out classed. If Vitali would have fought Byrd in a rematch he would have knocked Byrd out.

Vitali could have went on and turned southpaw....bizzare end considering that nads he showed in the Lewis fight.

That´s a lie, that wasn´t a one sided beatdown. After round 3 Byrd was getting more and more control of the fight. The scores were ridiculous high in favour of Vitaly. At the point of the stoppage the fight was almost even with the momentum of the fight changed into Byrd´s favour.

Would of, could of, should of, DIDN'T! 8 more punches landed, that's it.

Oh, and you're still ducking my questions. Why is that? :yep

There was no injury, it was just faked to save Vitaly´s reputation. With all his steroids he still were not able to defeat a middleweight. Watcht the fight, watch the frustration in Vitaly´s face. He simply quit, deal with it.

But.....it did IN FACT happen, and Vits never sought the rematch. Have I lied with any part of this or is it not 100% accurate?

That would depend on the odds, which doesn't matter because Vits never went after a rematch!

    :patsch

Does it make it more of a beatdown if you win every round but only land 8 more punches?

And yes, I believe he lost 2 rounds on two judges cards and 3 on the third judges card.

You don't have to accuse him of dodging, just don't excuse that it didn't happen.

I still believe that Byrd stylewise is all wrong for Vitaly. I´m not saying he would definately beat Vitaly, but he would give him trouble. Vitaly had a lot of problems to land clean on Byrd. He simply couldn´t deal with that elusiveness and speed. Vitaly´s style is very awkward and reflexes-based. He rarely get´s touched clean, but Byrd was ble to do it, cause of his speed. I´m not saying Byrd would definatley beat him in a rematch, especially with the knowledge of the first fight. Vitaly could do a lot better by throwing less punches to save his stamina. At the very leat i think Byrd would give Vitaly a tough challenge though. I think for Vitaly´s career it was a smart move to not rematch Byrd. He got his reputation back with a good showing against Lewis, eventhough he lost.

If you want to see real heart, look no further than Floyd "Money" Mayweather. He suffered a torn rotator cuff injury midway through Castillo 1, and he fought on as best he could, showing gusts, heart, and a champions will to win despite his injury. Also his fight with Carlos Hernandez, who was a good fighter in his own right, who he was beating on for 2 rounds, then badly injuries his hand, so bad that it paralyzed him and caused him to touch the canvas. When he got to his corner after the round, Roger looked at him, and they asked how you feel? And Mayweather didnt say fine, or it hurts, he simply said, I will not or can not quit! Vitali, in the Byrd fight, could've used such heart, Vitali was void then.

The fight was staged in Germany, where Klitschko was based at that time. And even Vitaly´s hometown judges had scored scome rounds even or for Byrd. The fight was almost even at time of stoppage in my personal opinion.

You have to deal with the fact, that Byrd indeed beat Vitaly. It´s in the books.
