It's Mikel Valkapinscovich the formally undefeated Ukranian Scaffolder from Latvia. Fighting for the WBC bronze intercontinental chicken pie diamond belt. It's in Gravesend Kent outside Aldi car park.

Surely he's just running down a deal now?

DeGale doesn't sell many tickets & never will in large numbers.

He's never going to if he's fighting nobodies once or twice a year.

He's 27 and only had 17 fights. You'd think he'd be moved along a little bit quicker.

I don't understand it at all.

I feel for Degale I really do...he beat Groves IMO But got done over since then it's been bums in Bluewater With Fat Mick after the
**** with Warrren. I really hoped Hearn was going to sign him...I doubt he'll get
Anywhere near the Froch-Groves winner....if Carl wins he'll be chasing a big time opponent as for Groves forget it-if he wins then he wouldn't touch James even if chunky offered to fight for free.

Would only have himself to blame if that were to happen. His and Jimmy's behaviour in the lead-up to that fight was an absolute disgrace.

DeGale had the golden ticket in 2008 it guarantees you two things when you start out your pro career 1st decent signing on fee 2nd goodwill of the British public early career.

Look after the first because the second goes quickly his career has a slow upward curve casuals have lost interest in DeGale. The famous rivalry with Groves as you may be aware goes back to Dale youth club.....fellas the same people other than family followed both fighters all true...One has a decent fanbase one hasn't DeGale....

The point I have tried to make with Campbell on other threads 9k tickets on pro debut (good card helped) 4k nearly sold out for his second fight Hull ice rink.Build your profile when hot because it doesn't last Campbell accessible, easy going casuals will want him to do well whatever hardcore fans on forums like this think (I rate him regardless he will £ in).

DeGale struggling to fill 800-1000 seat arenas aloof bites at any criticism take his response to constructive criticism from Richie Woodhall embarrassing.Talented but doesn't get why people really don't get behind him....you only can be that way if your ring exploits shut any criticism up from press, pundits & fans....it's the fact people don't care enough one way or the other how he does.He has to produce something special & soon but when will that opportunity come?

I can understand why he didnt want to take critisicsm from woodhall after his last fight though as he had majorly improved

TT he had improved but the laying on the ropes that he does to get a breather at times is a flaw that was fair to point out will cost him round the higher he goes up.

Woodhall is a very fair pundit & also praised him DeGale spat his dummy out I know you are aware that is something he does regularly when he hears something he doesn't like he does it in the gym.McDonnell & I think you will back me up on this as we hear similar info gets criticism for many things but conditioning wise is why he has stayed on board has flaws as a trainer but DeGale has at least curtailed his ballooning between fights.Enough to be head trainer at this point probably not......

You have a good inside track on fighters from north & west London as I do TT DeGale used to do a bit of training at Shootfighters as a change up doesn't now though.....

Luke Campbell was much more popular than DeGale was when he turned pro. The fact that the Olympics were held in London and his appearance on DOI help created a fan base. Also a city like Hull would really support an Olympic Gold medalist.
