I think Degale has gone stale and really need to shake things up, im starting to wonder if he loves the sport like he did in 10/11

His contract now is a issue up pretty soon 1/2 fights more? Why would MH go all out on getting him a step up fight for someone else to benefit should he win?

Treading water fight in November his most important decisions are looming outside the ring not in it needs & wants a challenge.

Amazing how Degales career has gone since the Groves fight.

When Groves beats Froch I a sure Degale will be looking for a fight. Groves should tell him to fight an eliminator vs a top 5 fighter. If they meet again, Groves stops him.

If Groves can pull off the upset against Froch I still think unless DeGale can move into a mandatory position Groves won't entertain a rematch at this point.

He would enjoy keeping him waiting & DeGale needs to bring something to the table to force a rematch...a title of some sort.... because he sure isn't a draw at the gate.

At present, it looks like DeGales career has stagnated with Mick. Of course youll hear he had fights to progress him and he won the Silver title but if anything he has moved to fighting for titles that have no respect and his brand has taken a dive.

He needs to fight a legitimate fighter, ideally for a legitimate title. He probably knows that but is having to piggy back on the Froch Groves fight for any column inches he can.

His contract situation is a issue MH will not invest significant sums in a fighter he is pretty sure about to jump ship.

DeGale at some point soon has to make hard decisions about his career.

People won't be smashing down the door to sign him to anything like he thinks he may be worth but someone will take a flyer on him.He is way on the outside looking in & needs to do something about it.

Degale for me, just hasn't been managed as well as he could have been.. which partly is also down to himself as he's hardly won anyone over.

Already on this thread, the comparison to Luke Campbell has been mentioned. Campbell and his management have been very very clever about how they've gone about promoting him in the last year.

Off the back of the Olympics where he caught the public's attention, instead of just turning pro right away and going off of that.. what did he do? He struck while the fire was still hot and landed himself on one of the most watched TV shows in the UK - which threw him even further into the limelight and drummed up more interest in his name.

So not only is he billy big bollocks winning a gold medal for his country, he went on a show watched by 10+ million viewers every week or whatever it is and got himself in the slap bang centre of the public eye without even fighting 1 professional round.

He is an absolute dream for Eddie Hearn.

IF Groves wins, he won't entertain Degale what so ever.. and why should he?

He beat him in my eyes and in the eyes of the judges in a close fight and Degale is bringing zero to the table.

George would have it all to lose and nothing to gain. He's beaten him as an amateur and pro, then if he does pull off the upset he's a world champion. Will he want to give a man he can't stand the biggest pay day of his career and the chance to take his world title? No way.
