Will fight Stephen ormond on the 7th

 

Didn't see this coming But I do predict alot of musical chairs between ****** & Hearn with both guys having good little victories... with Swifty and Mathews today I would say they draw this battle.

 

Mathews is a Coldwell fighter.

 

Fighting Ormond for the WBO Euro

 

I saw an interview with the details of the deal, looks good and if he wins the first 4 of the 5 fight deal he gets a world title shot. If ****** keeps to it then its a great deal for him

 

Yeah I know that mate but Hearn has put him on the last 4 or 5 fights in a good little domestic level revival that Derry has been on and as far as I can see was going to continue to put him on to face the Mitchells, Rees and Possibly burns. Sky like him as well due to his entertaining dustups so there is no reason I can see why Hearn would stop using him...and it's not like Derry is going to want to fight on a off tv Coldwell show is it?

 

Ive watched Derry spar Burns and he got wasted big time, derrys chasing the cash

 

I agree with Derrys reasons. He was getting buttons to fight Mitchell which is a career ending fight really. And no option if he won after it. Don't like what he did to Dave though but I think Dave was under no illusions with Derry.

 

All this will be irrelevant once Ste ormond does a number on him

 

A lot of ifs and maybes. Relies on not only him winning but w*rren getting him out regularly and in meaningful fights. Plan was for Gethin in 2nd fight which is a bit pointless if Crolla has already taken the British off him by then

 

Don't see how it opens up more doors for him realistically. He's going to struggle to win the European and even if he does what then? All the money fights out there for him are on the domestic scene. Crolla being the biggest one, that fight is now impossible to make

 

didnt see that one coming but the fight with Ormond for his WBO EURO lightweight title think that would be a good entertaining fight

 

Who misses out more? Rees, Coyle, Mitchell, Crolla etc aren't going to be fighting him now, so who will?

He must have a very specific route mapped out as other than in monetary terms, I don't see this being beneficial to him.

 

I think derry could beat Mitchell. tho by the vibe on here Mitchell wud just have to turn up! Fair doos he would b favourite but imo derry's got power to hurt Mitchell as shown by burns.
