I like this fight, I think Magomed is overrated by some, he is a crude fighter with power, I like Perez in this fight. I hope Perez wins and finally makes a charge to a world title shot.

Havent they been talking about this one for a while now.Has it been made.Perez looked good in Prizefighter but it hardly makes him a contender. Also looks a small heavyweight with a bit of surplus on him, very inactive.I wonder if he's enjoying life a bit too much in Ireland and has lost the desire, like a lot of Cubans.Know nothing about the other guy.

Perez looked to me as if he was going far but inactivity probably ended his chance

I think Mago beats him, though I wouldn't be surprised if Perez takes it.
I was very high on Perez after Prizefighter, but like many winners of the comp he didn't really impress after that.
Of course Mago has been overrated, like most big punchers when they look great beating up overmatched opposition (look at Price and Mitchell, and Wilder might follow), but I don't know if current Perez is able to stop him.

I like Mago in this as I think he'd stop the guys Perez only managed recent UD's on.

Perez is training hard for this, has been training pretty steadily even when out of action.

Its a bizarre situation though, some rich guy in Ireland has a mangement contract with him, has him in this state of the art sports complex, pays big money to bring in the top sparring partners and they all go away raving about how good Mike is.

Tony Thompson has sparred Mike on 2 occasions and was KO'd the first time and comprehensively schooled the second time.

Boystov, Dimitrenko, Helenius, Wilder, Chambers, Glazkov, Takam, Charr, Price, Wach, Cunningham, Kevin Johnson, Ustinov, Pulev and Hamer have all been in Cork for sparring. And thats coming to Mikes place for sparring, not the other way around. His "handler" has alot of money by all accounts.

Its great for experience sure, but hes sending people away not wanting to fight him.

His inactivity is down to lack of motivation. He just doesn't like tune up fights that pay very little. He does not want to fight anyone that will not be seen as a scalp. The better the opponent then the better the training camp.

He was tantalisingly close to securing a fight with Tyson Fury 18 months back but the word is out there that hes just not seen as being worth the risk. He brings nothing to the table.

And hes not motivated enough to be knocking out bum after bum in order to force his way in so its catch 22.

1000% expect him to beat Abdusalamov purely because he sees it as a challenge and the opportunity to beat a so called "name".

Saw Mago in New York 2012 on the Macklin Sergio bill? He looked AWFUL...I actually went to the loo and missed his ko win, that's how interested I was in what I was looking at!!

Perez has to beat him if he is going anywhere.....

I was at the Perez-Walker fight in Mannheim and it was dreadful. I'll put it down to ring rust from Perez against a tough bigger man but it wasn't one for the spectators.

He injured his hand in the fight, reports suggested it was possibly broken.

He broke his hand in the latter part of the second round

He thumped the wall with the other hand in his dressing room after in frustration and nearly caused his trainer to have a heart attack :p
