Couldn't believe they even mentioned Selby and Salido in the same sentence if i'm being honest. Salido KO's Selby as Selby hasn't the power to KO him and won't last 12 rounds without getting hurt and dropped.
Thats a more realistic fight for Selby,Cruz would be a decent test but he'd be way out of his depth against someone like Salido.
I thought Mccrory was gonna burst out laughing when they mentioned Selbys name,I think they all knew it was a ridiculous thing to say,Sky have to promote their fighters though,it was probably written into the script to give Selby a shout on the back of that fight.
There at least three fights away before they challenge for a world title. I don't think he would get demolished. He would Definitely last 12 I think. Whether he would win is another question.
Gradovich is the only guy Selby has a chance of beating for a world title and even still I think it would be a close fight.
salido b far too strong at this stage as above needs 3/4 fights and has to step up class b4 goin in against solid fighter shud go for euro belt
Gradovich would be a good match up for Selby but it would still be a 50-50 task I rate Selby. To me he is obviously above domestic level (he cleaned up easily). Think if he can win the vacant European belt then Cruz would be a good test of where he is going. Gradovich I have seen a fair bit of tough attritional fighter throws a lot of punches but little head movement & comes in straight lines looking to wear the opt down.Selby has a good chin will need it if & when a title shot comes along.
Think that Selby would put up a better showing than Cruz. Whether he's got the snap to keep Salido off him is another matter... Still though, Salido is crude with little head movement and throws wide hooks which are there to be countered.
