I wonder how Paul Smith and Derry will get on being both under FW?

Read a funny article on BoxingNews which quoted Derry saying, "I'm back in my home city headlining a huge show"

Only to read further down it say the show will be headlined by Paul Smith v Luke Blackledge.

Let the, "who's more popular in Liverpool" arguement start again!!

I agree with you mate - I can only think that Derry was offered **** money for the Mitchell fight and Frank stepped in with a bigger offer for softer opposition...
Derrys probably also pissed that Crola is getting the Burns fight instead of him...(forget all this BS talk about a Beltran rematch and def not Crawford in the states) we all know it will be Anthony next especially after just having his jaw busted

He's already said that he will get more money for his first fight under Wazza than he would for Mitchell. Which Hearn said himself is a real barnstormer. I think he wanted it to headline the London Card he has. First thing Derry said after the second Crolla fight is that he won't do it again unless the money is better. So the money he's getting must be shite.

Eddie would have known if Derry was signed to someone or not.

I don't unherstand where all this Crolla talk is coming from still. Burns has to deal with his mandatory or he will be stripped. That means Crawford or if they can negotiate Beltran. His only other option would be to go for the 3 weight world champion and step up to 140 where the division looks a but if Garcia steps up. I'd assume he would get an instant shot at the WBO

I think he was buthurt that he beat and drew with Crolla and now Crolla has been signed with Sky with the promise of world title shots.

Derry is a hard sell as a world title challenger because of his loses and age, Crolla even though he lost to Derry is a much easier sell. Plus I think Crolla won the second fight and would stop Derry in a 3rd. Derry needs to think of the £ at this stage in his career.

Not Derry's biggest fan but I think Coldwell just fed Derry as an opponent to Matchroom. I don't think he really DID anything magical for him.

A self managed Derry could have got the second Crolla fight. The fight with Coyle was supposed to be Coyle winning and becoming a star in Hull to help ticket sales whenever Luke Campbell fights, Coldwell probably knew that.

He did however get Derry and nice headlined fight on Sky against Woodhouse, which lets be honest was a joke of a fight. Woodhouse had no chance in that fight. That was like free money and exposure for Derry.

:deal:deal Wasn't happy at all. Eddie and Coldwell expected Coyle to commence the beggining of the end for Matthews but he went and put a spanner in the works.

For similar reasons Rees also isn't happy at the mo as to where he fits in after the Broner fight was supposed to open doors even when he inevitably lost. Yet he comes back and Adam Smith was voicing his obituary from the opening bell of the Crolla fight, and then Eddie was hoping he was gonna lose to Coyle too

Sounds like a money move but probably wrong move if that is the reason!
