Ortiz never dug deep for a win? Ya because the berto fight was a walk in the park.

As a fan Ive tried to be better about it

Didnt realize at first how bad Ortiz's jaw was, some guys would have fought on but no need to drag him thru the mud. Must have been a bad break considering the lay off

Alvarado was done, the ref and his corner prob woulda stopped soon anyway

Alvarado was taking a beating but Victor wasn't ? Everyone knows Maidana can crack . You think Victor quit for the fun of it ?

Ortiz had a good lead and put Maidana down twice. It was a good give and take fight but When things got real rough he mentally gave up and pretty soon ended up quitting. He said ''I don't deserve to be beaten like that''

Lopez-Ortiz. Just watch Abraham or Burns fighting and I also believe that Alvarado would never quit in a close fight because of a broken jaw. Yes it is brutal and awful injury but we have seen it is not impossible to overcome.

Alvarado was wobbling all over the place against Provodnikov and had nothing left. He was physically done and couldn't protect himself anymore. He fought his heart out and gave a big piece of himself that night. That kind of piece which never comes back.

    Just saying..............

its a touchy subject. so many things to think about.

like victors broken jaw. do we now the severity of how bad it was broken? it seems like sum jaw breaks could be worse then others but i really have no clue wut im talking about as far as that.

and then victor/maidana fight man... victor said **** it quick when the going got tuff i kno that fight didnt last over 6rds.

then u gotta think wut would of happened if alvarado went in there with the same gamplan as victor did vs maidana ...if alvarado went toe to toe wit ruslan would it have been better for him? or would he of just quit in the corner due to a severe beating even earlier?

or it coulda gave mike a shot if he went toe to toe.. because in the end he was forced to fight wit essentially wut he was avoiding all night . and if he would have done it when he was fresher, mentally stronger, more confident he could have won

PLENTY of fighters have fought through a broken Jaw. Plenty. Sorry but that isn't an excuse to quit.

Not all injuries are equal. A broken jaw is not the same as another. I think Ortiz was in danger of serious long term damage in that fight. The broken jaw was protruding in some way, I read something about it. Some of you dudes are ruthless behind your keyboard.
