Clash of the Demigods! (not quite "Titans" ) Both have the ability to rumble through most of the crop of current heavyweight contenders on sheer raw physicality, work rate, durability, and determination. While neither is a caveman, nor are they master boxers. They are both just burly and broad-shouldered medium sized heavies with hard-nosed offensive instincts and heavy enough hands to dish out plenty of pain despite lacking one-shot knockout torque. Both perform at their best when the scales read about 240, but are known to occasionally come in as much as a stone or more north with their rhinoceros builds skewing a bit more toward hippopotamus. Both are 29 years old. They have extremely similar ring experience, in quantity and quality faced. They've boxed a total of two professional rounds' difference. Both have fought Vitali Klitschko during his comeback. While they both lost they have given him probably his toughest pair of matches in that span. (although Charr's effort was condensed to only a few rounds and shortened by the injury) Both run hot and cold in terms of their dedication. When hot, they generate hype. When cold, they are demonized. Both have swagger in spades and believe themselves more than capable of attaining world championship status. In fact, both see it as their manifest destiny. Both have large, vaguely brick-shaped St. Bernard craniums. Both can grow out some facial hair but come off looking strangely pubescent in contrast with their large manly frames. Both have surnames beginning with "Ch". Both have nicknames starting with a D-word and then Boy. It seems meant to be, to me. :conf It's written in the stars. (or pig entrails; I want to be culturally inclusive )
I can't believe that I haven't made a poll thread on this before, having thought about it so much over the years. Hell...that one hasn't been made, period. :blood
Charr looked **** against Saglam (and reportedly Bakhtov as well, and Zack Page back in the day) but to be fair Chisora looked **** against Avila and Fury...maybe worse on those nights than Charr has ever looked, or at least as bad. He also should have impressed a lot more than he did against Remy Z. At their best I do think Chisora is superior to, but not leagues above Charr. Examples of them each firing on all cylinders: Chisora vs. Helenius Chisora vs. Scott Chisora vs. Gerber Chisora vs. Klitschko Chisora vs. ***ton II Chisora vs. Williams Charr vs. Mazikin Charr vs. Klitschko Charr vs. Airich Charr vs. Nascimento Charr vs. Bidenko Charr vs. Williams Pit any of those versions against each other and you have a good fight.
I agree. It's a good fight, would love to see the two of them duke it out. I would even be rooting for Charr if it took place, but I believe Chisora would win.
I think Chisora would beat Charr. Honestly, it was a huge joke when unknown Charr got his shot vs Vitali. He lost and has looked pretty poor since.. At least Chisora has wins over good unbeaten contenders such as Scott and Helenius (I count that one as a win) and seems to be in good physical shape these days. He gave Vitali a better fight too. His loss to Fury was a long while ago. Haye is a bigger puncher and better finisher than Charr (faster and more accurate too) so I don't see much Charr could do to beat a fit, motivated Chisora.
one of the most exciting fights to be made at heavyweight. fight of the year caliber war, and that's saying a whole lot in the heavyweight division.
hey why not!? If charr isnt scared he would take the fight.. he wants to fight this year once more anyway
The current Chisora would roll over Charr without too much difficulty. The big difference here is defence. Chisora moves his head well while Charr's upper body is very stationary which is why he got hit so much against Bakhtov. The current fit and motivated Chisora is a handful for anyone who doesn't have the skills to keep him out of range or anyone lacking the power to stop him from just walking you down. Charr does not have the skills, defence or power to win this one.
