Dude, they were sparring in like 99. Spadafora was IBF LW Champ, and was in fight shape, Mayweather was not in fight shape. And was still holding his own until he got tired. have you even watched the sparring session?

Honestly you must not be that big of a "Boxing Historian":think.

This guy has alot of fights on ESPN, he was the IBF lightweight champ around 2000-2002.

He even had some HBO fights

Could be worse! Floyd's sparring session was on PPV vs JMM. That sparring partner KTFO6 your idol! If I may use ******* logic, Spadafora > JMM > PEDcquiao

OP isn't a historian if you don't know this clown.

He's a piece of **** with a padded record and will get KOd brutally if he ever tries to step up at this age.

Yeah another thing everyone needs to realize is Floyd's skills probably weren't where they are now. Also you are bound to have a bad sparring session every once in a while. Sometimes you have to train when you aren't at 100%, unlike fights where both guys always go in at 100%. Also Paul is (slightly) older than Floyd and hasn't taken as good of care of himself.

You've been on ESB for 2 years and never heard of Paul Spadafora? Strange. He's somewhat of a legend on this site.

I think in his prime he was totally respectable enough that he gets sold short being viewed as a joke on these forums. I honestly would like to see him in with a lower end top 10 ranked guy. Even at his age and inactivity I would consider it a decent win for whomever beats him first and probably better than a lot of "cupcake" fights those guys will get.

Floyd was outta shape, any top fighter of the time woulda whooped him. Spadafora was good, but not Castillo, MAB, Morales good. The Morales-Mayweather session, no,excuses there! Both in their prime, Floyd the bigger, stronger, faster one, and El Terrible still whooped him.

Antone that draws any conclusions from sparring are fuking idiots. You have no clue what they are working on. The only thing that counts is fight night.

Mayweather was ducking Spadafora for years until he started ducking Corrales, then he fought Corrales and Judah then he was ducking Baldomir, then he fought Baldomir and was ducking delahoya, until he fought delahoya then he was ducking Hatton, then he was going to fight Matt Hatton whilst ducking mosley, then he fought and beat mosley, and was ducking cotto and more recently Alvarez.

Spadafora is the only man Mayweather continues to duck. Other than Kell Brook who should not be considered a mere mortal, for there is no blueprint.
