They don't need 'arguments to the contrary' - he's British by virtue of being from NI. If you want to support him as fighter from Ireland though, then do so with elan; British posters are quite free to do the same in supporting a fighter from the UK.

Again, it's the British who came on here and bitched about it in the first place when someone complained about him being referred to as Irish.

I have a british passport, I'm a British national. I'm still an Irish person because I'm from Ireland. It's not ****ing rocket science.
