I always thought Andre had the potential to win a strap. A very skillful fighter, although plenty of people questioned his attitude. especially when he fought Froch. Since that controversial fight and the one against Arthur Abraham, he's been very inactive, even after getting the all clear of any neurological issues for over three and a half years now. Last I heard from him he pulled out from a fight in April "undisclosed reasons" Last Fights Michael Gbenga UD 02/02/2013 win SD Darryl Cunningham 30/12/2011 Win TKO Arthur Abraham 27/03/2010 Win DQ Carl Froch 17/10/2009 Loss SD Anyone heard what's going on with him? You don't really hear much from him at all these days
Athlete not a fighter Should have beaten froch but threw it away running and trying to throw headbutts. I actually think this really hurt him Possibly pulled a fast one against AA -ugly style, limited fan base- his time may have come and gone
Whats happened to Andre direl? I'll tell you whats happened: He found his level in the super six after losing to Froch and AA (should have a legit KTFO L against AA as was getting caught up to before he crumpled and pulled his bll**** acting stunt) Direll has no heart, none. That segment on fightcamp 360 when the pathetic little worm is sat at home with his friends watching a video of a King Arthur fight in preparation for his upcoming bout. The FEAR in his eyes is palpable. He almost breaks out crying right there. Fought a couple of chumps in three years, looked terrified in the ring each time, and some accounts suggest he cried in the dressing room before and after BOTH fights. American level at best. Could probably carve out a career fighting domestically but is clearly more suited to sunday afternoon coffee and a gossip with the girls than top level boxing.
Dirrell beat Froch and Abraham. Froch, a b level fighter with an a level heart was being comfortably out-boxed and Abraham was clutching at straws and is now shot to pieces. Dirrell's been out of the game too long now. I don't think he liked being smacked in the mouth too much and Dr Shaw Hi probably directed him toward another career.
