Proof that Wilder's chin is pure glass

Joe Louis was knocked down 8 times in his first amateur fight. Nobody says he has a glass chin?

Boxers can develop technique to protect themselves from getting hit - that's the aim of the game right? Does Ali have a glass chin because he was put down by Cooper early in his career? Tyson because of the various sparring stories / videos?

Ha - to be fair, that's a pretty funny line.

Unfortunately not though. Unlike most on here I am an ex-boxer and rational person, not a keyboard warrior. Sure, people some people can take punches better than others, and Wilder is clearly lower down on that level, but it's getting ****ing boring coming on here reading threads from people that don't know how to put things in to context.

The first line of my last post says it all really.

 

That's all well and good, but there's no evidence that Wilder is developing ANYTHING to make up for his obviously lousy punch resistance. In fact, just the opposite.

And, there is much evidence that Wilder's chin is just as bad as it's always been. For five years - five years - he's fought stiff after stiff, and even some of them have put him on the canvas. In his last fight one of these no-hopers wobbled him with a jab!

And yet people hype this fraud up. Based on what, knocking over a bunch of tomato cans?? Wilder is just a knockout waiting to happen. As soon as he faces a live body, his glass jaw is getting shattered again, just like it did in this amateur fight.

 

You're absolutely right. However, I think most people that say Wilder could beat Wlad / Stiverne etc. simply believe that he has enough power that if he gets to his opponent early, he has a chance of knocking them out. That's probably fair no?

Personally, I don't think Wilder will ever win a world title. He has not developed technically to protect his weaknesses, as you rightly point out, and will be put in with somebody that can exploit it before he gets the chance to do so.
