Mayweather vs. Sergio could come close because Pac & May ain't happening and its crazy that folks are still mentioning it.

Lewis - Vitali could be circus-hyped up enough to get 2.5m ppvs.

Not yet. There was a 2.2 estimate, but the final numbers havent been tallied yet.

The De La Hoya Mayweather fight was estimated at 2.1 and then brought in 2.4 as the final number

    so we'll see. :silly

At its peak It would have done 4 million buys. people dont understand how much that fight was buzzed about.

there were people who had never watched boxing a day in their lives that knew that fight was a must see.

it'll never be that high again.

but around 2009-2010. the demand was ridiculous.

Even if the main event is accompanied by a solid undercard, there aren't many fights that can hit 2.5 mill.

    1) Mayweather-Khan. Hate him or not, Amir has a big following. Think about it. Why else would Golden Boy allow him to sleep walk to the head of the line, with so many other people available?

    2) Cotto-Canelo. Both of these guys have huge fan bases and it's a fight that could actually happen next year!

Obviously, there are other really interesting PPV quality matchups(Mayweather-Martinez, Mayweather-Golovkin, Golovkin-Froch, Mayweather-Bradley) but none of them would come close to hitting 2.5...

Exactly. I still speak to casuals at work and the first tbhing they say is will they ever fight. Its criminal they never did and as much as I like both fighters there will also be a massive negative on their CV. Proper let the fans down.
