Collins was due to defend against Calzaghe but decided to retire. Collins was due to make a comeback, have a warm up and challenge Calzaghe, so they were due to appear on the same bill against fighters to showcase themselves against. Calzaghe defended against R Thornberry as his showcase fight and Collins was due on that bill, but Collins decided not to comeback

Woodhall was a good SMW. WBC SMW champ, beat Malinga WBC champ, beat Nardiello a still world rated former SMW champ, beat Catley a future SMW champ, beat Branco who was a top SMW who beat Reid and prime G Johnson and went on to become WBA LHW champ.

Watch the link to see for yourself and be sure, but from what Collins was saying, he was after Jones at the time and Calzaghe was an up and comer that he didnt have a desire to face (in short)

oh so its nothing to do with the medical advice he received after his brain scan. He was advised to retire based on that.

as usual its the facts that are wrong when they don't work for Bailey, and he invents some **** to replace it.

Bailey would be happier if Collins had suffered a brain haemmorraghe in the the ring apparently. Then he'd make an apt well faded opponent for Calzaghe to showboat against.

I would not want injury for any athelete, person or anything at all.
You obviously havent watched the link Herol and are now messing up again.
You need to listen to what Collins says. He didnt retire due to a brain scan when Calzaghe was due to challenge him for his title.
Watch the link as you are now looking a twat for getting it wrong on a thread with video evidence coming from the fighters own mouths :patsch.
Poor old Herol makes a twat of himself again :yep

Collins withdrew from his fight against Calzaghe very close to the fight-date claiming to be injured and had his title stripped from him. He then decided to retire claiming he had no interest in fight that wasn't against Roy Jones, he added that he had wanted to finish his career on high note with a big payday but said he couldn't get that against Calzaghe because "Joe is a good up-and-coming kid, but he wouldn't fill a parish church", and because he was unlikely to get Jones any time soon he wasn't going to fight on.

A year or two later he tried to stage a comeback and if he beat Calzaghe he hoped to finally get the fight with Jones that he'd been after for years, but he collapsed during sparring and was forced to retire for good.

Oh. Are you having timeline problems again Herol?

In 1997 Collins retired because he wanted to, stating a lack of motivation for any fight that wasn't against Jones as his reason, in 1999 Collins called off his comeback and retired for good because he collapsed in training and was advised by doctors that he wasn't safe for him to fight.

"I want Roy Jones. That's the fight I need, we've got unfinished business I've fought them all but me and Roy still gotta dance. It's the only fight left I've got that burning desire for"

On Calzaghe: "I had to ask my pals about him. They follow the sport closer than I do, they're fans. They tell me this wiry kid from wales wants to fight me, but he can't sell out a phone box. He put Eubank on his backside so you've got to give him credit I suppose but how do I get up for a fight against a kid who's never left his hometown, who I never heard of. I want Jones."

no, but are you are trying to rearrange the facts in my post so that they conveniently are. I was referring to the brain injury event in 1999 which you read as 1997, enabling you to call me out on a timeline problem you invented?

In 1997, well Collins stated injury as the reason for his withdrawal. Though I am sure lack of motivation played a part since Joe Calzaghe was even less well known in 97 than in 2006, if such a thing is possible.
