    Eddie spins a good yarn.

Ask Barker in a years time was it financially a good move to lose his belt in Germany for less money than he thought he would earn.

It's win win for Eddie. They're getting well paid and if Barker wins and he becomes a bigger UK star. Barker loses and they've got a massive rematch in the UK that will make loads of money.

£1m with a rematch clause to fight in Germany... And Barker wants the fight... Oh and it's still winnable.

    What's the issue here???

Huge payday for Barker so Eddies move makes perfect sense.

Even better regardless of the outcome in Germany there is another big money rematch in the contract.

Very clever move on the part of Fast Car!!!

I'd like to see the detail of the rematch clause.

If Barker is convincingly beaten there will be no demand for a rematch.

****** screws over fighters, this has been proven numerous times so where's the proof he pays the highest wages?

If Barker gets beat convincingly all it proves was he wasn't quite good enough for that level, however one big money fight could be better than a few soft defences for little cash. He hasn't the draw for headlining ppv so big money fights like £1m are hard to come by at home

some really defensive opinions on this.personally think with his injurys its perfectly understandable to take the money .But at the same time a very dangerous fight to take considering barker more than likely wont stop him ,rematch clause or not.

just would have liked a profile building safe home defense against andy lee, which would have been easy to make before getting the money fights against murray or macklin.

certainly dont think anyone a cretin for thinking different to yourself solaris but either way best of luck to darren and hope he wins.

Darren Barker is a better fighter than todays Sturm by quite some distance, and he's getting better. Providing his camp goes well and he doesn't break down he'll beat Sturm in glittering fashion!

Purdy is the epitome of a "prize fighter" who takes a risk, and he's not bad. If he is to remain motivated and earn some money he needs a motive.

See Brian Rose for evidence :good
