Really wanted Groves to win until last night but he annoyed me so much I'm actually wanting Froch to smash him now
He was embarrassing last night to say the least, looks like adam boothe's weirdness has been rubbing off on him.
Ward a "feather duster puncher" Please! He's hardly a one punch KO specialist but the guy can punch. He bullied Dawson with his power and accuracy the whole fight and despatched him clinically! Froch has a solid set of whiskers and was buzzed many times by Ward. And who mentioned Floyd Mayweather?
Groves been hanging around with Haye and booth too long. The only trait he didn't pick up from that freakshow of a team is that slow motion blinking nonsense. Other than that groves blatantly got his patter from those two clowns. I don't agree with the notion that groves should sit quietly and show froch respect though, any edge he needs to gain is fair game. However he goes about it. You forget this is a boxing forum sometimes the mock outrage that squeals out of some delicate flowers on here at the slightest hint of controversy. Get a grip eh lads. You know who you are. Think froch wins this probably by stoppage as groves looks to have a shaky jaw.
That whole episode of Ringside for me was just two guys with little personality trying to gee it up purely to line their pockets. I almost got the feeling when the two of them were sitting in the 'Green room' like two naughty boys waiting outside the headmasters office, they would burst into laughter when Johnny Nelson cut to the ad break. We had the two pronged Hearn attack as well, we saw no long shot of them standing up because they were probably nursing a raging hard on at the thought of another PPV, they do love a pound note don't you know... I just see Froch and Groves trying their best to ham up a fight and get the most money possible, and fair play to them, anyone would do the same. They probably don't give a shiny shite about each other and the old 'Respect' card has been brought out. Be it lack of, I'm due, are you dis, show me some, I'll teach you some. Should be a good fight though...
You have to have some type of face/heel/tweener dynamic to sell fights (to use wrestling terminology). Heel/heel rarely draws well.
u got it man, ricky hatton was well liked in his fighting days, and mayweather wa s the heel, certianly for the uk fans two bad guys dont work, and sold alot, mayweather does well with it. most people want a fresh new face to take over but groves aint the man to do it, so id rather see froch win and maybe take on ward again before he retires, he aint afraid to get schooled again. and ward aint as invincible as mayweather
Carl called ward a 'feather duster puncher' over an again in the bulid up to the fight, I was highlighting Froch proven lack of respect for his opoenent. And I brought up floyd to highlight how it should be done, you talk your smack before the fight then afterward you give your opoenent their props.
Shut the **** up. These guys are going to fight. Why do people think you have to be some role model who doesn't talk ****? They are fighting in front of 20k people and millions on tv. There is so much pride and ego on the line. **** the oponnent!
am i the only one who thought groves has deliberatly set out to wind froch up, watched groves since start of his career and he comes across as a down to earth, quite funny and very tongue in cheek , i think hes got it in his head that a good way to beat froch is to rile him, mentally wind him up and shite on his achievements as a fighter...he wants him to come in bull to a red rag style... and froch looks angry...id say its a good mental head game and groves is playing it very well...whether itll work or not is another story
There was nothing wrong with that. Degale was in the middle of a ridiculous outburst where he said 'he would knock him out in 4 rounds'. Groves knew that wouldn't happen so said 'your purse vs mine' etc. Since that fight Groves has become a bigger d*ckhead by the month. By all other reports and interviews I have seen, Degale is actually a decent enough bloke. He just let himself down through the build up to that show.
