I'd like to see any of you geezers question a real, live black panther about his weight.

There is no such thing as panthers. They are like brontosauruses.

just saw the fight, he looked pretty good against an overmatched guy that he held every single advantage over. But at his advanced age I don't know how much he'll accomplish back at cruiserweight.

    My feeling as well.

Gomez vs. Chambers would be an intriguing clash of former heavyweight contenders reinventing themselves at the weight wherein they both should've been campaigning all along.

Gomez passed his first test with flying colors in comparison, but Mchunu is no Baharalija.

I actually think Chambers would look good against JC, Mchunu had an unbelievably awkward style that you just can't prepare for. This isn't the pre-heavyweight CW JC Gomez, he's far slower. I don't realistically see him beating any CW in the top 5. Even Huck who can get outboxed is far too physical and I don't see him getting out of the way of shots for 12...I could be wrong, the fight wasn't long enough to gage his return though....:think

True, he is looking very slow. He couldn't miss Baharalija with anything, head or body, jabs or left crosses - but that of course was down to his patient timing and Baharalija's poor fitness, utter predictability and guilelessness defensively.

There wasn't enough to read into, no - but if Chambers doesn't improve any from the Mchunu loss and that really is just how effective he is going to be at cruiser, this could be a pretty even match-up even accounting for the difference in styles.
