This isn't about who I "like", dickhead. Whether he's the real deal or not remains to be seen.

Jeff Lacy was a one-dimensional fighter with one punch...basically a polished, more athletic version of Tyrone Brunson. Golovkin has similar power to Lacy, except he has it in both hands , can land every punch from every angle and possesses discipline, composure and patience that he acquired after years of plying his trade as a high level amateur. There is simply no comparison between the two.

Way more upside than Lacy. Don't really think that's debatable. Doesn't mean 3G is assured of anything but he's levels above lacy

Well, Ward is on the p4p list and his best win is against a faded calslappy leftover.

Lacy always looked ****. GGG looks pretty good. Stevens is better than Lacy and we're about to see what GGG can do to him.

GGG had a stellar amateur record, Lacy did not. He was schooled long before he fought Calzaghe, here he is against a Russian:

Come on now, Jeff Lacy was an overachiever as an amateur, and never showed real technique as a pro, just a killer instinct. Golovkin has a fairly good skillset, I'm not sold on him or on the bandwagon but he's nothing like Lacy.

Lacy's movement was way worse than GGG. Lacy could not deal with lateral movement or angles at all. He wasn't adept at cutting the ring off. Basically if you stood in front of Lacy you were cannon fodder but if you moved (Calzaghe, Taylor, RJJ), Lacy was completely lost.

GGG has good balance, footspeed, and can cut the ring off. I really don't see much comparison except for maybe the hype.

Jeff Lacy was not a wrecking machine, not even in his prime. He had close fights against Vanderpool and Omar Sheika.

Lacy was a flat footed wide puncher with good power and good heart. End of discussion.
