What I found interesting was the fact that Perez showed signs of fatigue and seemed to get hit when he was tired and still showed excellent punch resistance, kid seems to have a really good overall fighting package unfortunately for him the king of the division would drawf even mago. I think wald is a solid fighter but imagine Perez at 6"5 he would work wald something terrible....fortunately for wald you cant teach size.
I stayed up to watch this last night because I was really impressed by Mike in Prizefighter and thought he would go on to better thing. It was easily the most intriguing match of the night. Observations about Mike: He is small, 6ft at best and this will cause problems going forward but also opportunities. He lacks real punch power. I think he can knock guys out but he should have got the stoppage. Mago was tough however and I actually think he wanted his corner to continue. A sweeping generalisation coming up but a lot of those Russian guys seem to be made of steel and have hearts to match. Great chin on Mike. This guy was knocking people out left right and centre, irrespective of quality of opponent. It was clear Mago had that type of rugged power as well. Bodes well as let's be honest Perez is going to get hit with his engaging style. Fitness is a concern. He is tried and tested over 10 rounds which is good but his attitude and approach to training is a concern. Rumours substantiated by Macklin that he is lazy. He also should have stepped on the has a few times last night and got Mago out of there. What is good is when he is hit/hurt he comes back firing and has a pleasing style that will appeal to the neutrals and hopefully make him some coin. His skill set is above 95% of professional heavys I would say. I remember in prizefighter, albeit it against low level operators, my thoughts were - here is a guy with no hype and he would probably clean up domestically and in Europe. But that is boxing I suppose
wont be with mike he has good team and he is very motivated to get to the top,he doesnt want to be fighting any bums he wants to fight the best,if he keeps training with ggg"s camp it will only do wonders for him,he was only training with sanchez for 7 weeks before the mago fight so i olny imagine how good perez will be if he is with sanchez from now on

Ditto, it would almost fit his natural progression as a heavyweight looking to get a shot at the cream of the crop. You can throw in others that like Pulev, Povetkin, Arreola.....;however I'd imagine they'd give him the Tony Thompsons and Ray Austins of the world before this happens.
