The odds makers have Booth a nearly 7/1 underdog. That seems a little harsh. He is longer of tooth and slightly the smaller man (although both started at flyweight) and coming off six losses in eight tries going back three years...but only really got thoroughly outclassed twice for all that. He was often in with tough competition for those losses and generally acquitted himself well. He showed immense guts with Kiko lasting as long as he did, with the Spaniard enjoying a massive edge in power. He also kept it relatively close with both Casey and Ward last year. He could have arguably received the nod over Molitor. The only times he looked not to belong in the ring were the Quigg and Galahad losses, and he dropped Kid Galahad! As for Lee, in out-slugging Ward he didn't look to have been ruined by the Belgian smashing him up a year ago...but is really that special to be a 1/10 favorite over a Booth?
Haskins deserves to be favourite and a win maybe TKO should get him another European shot this time at Guerfi, when you consider Hall who Haskins beat last but one fight has a possible world shot while Haskins style plays against him and he alienates some boxing fans ,but he is with McDonnell the best Bantams in Britain
Placed a bet, haskins on points.can't see a knockout coming.booth is pretty durable and game opponent still.
Haskins nowhere near as good as he thinks he is, having an awkward/unusual doesn't automatically make you a talent, but he shld win handily with a wide ud...
Only one winner, its a question of whether its Haskins points or stoppage. Booth is shot to **** and i have a family member who knows him and he is only fighting for the money these days, he has become a journeyman.
:good And those are only stoppage losses in booth career.i don't get why the bookers think haskins is more likely to stop booth than winning on points. I'm european and we use desimals. haskins ko/tko dq 1,7 Haskins on points 2,6 not great odds, but i think it's still pretty safe bet.
He certainly didn't embarrass himself or act like he was only there for a paycheck. From that bit of success in the 6th I was hoping until the last he would secure the needed KO, but alas.
Just watched the fight. Booth did a lot better than I expected, really took it to Haskins and made it exciting.
He tries his best no doubt but he knows he is finished at any decent level, he needs the money so that is why he is continuing.
