Hell at the very least Calzaghe could do what Haye did against Valuev just throw 11.9 punches a round and run the whole fight. Ruiz wouldn't be able to catch him he was a flat footed plodder.

Calzaghe was always easy to hit, a total feather fisted bum Salem put him down hard, Ruiz would smash him to bits.

Calzaghe doesn't have the ability to run and throw lots at the same time. He has NEVER been able to do it.

His flurries that mostly miss consist of coming forward or standing his ground, against a Hulk he is going to do no damage yet take lots of damage from a guy with a natural 50lb weight advantage. Ruiz essentially hitting Joe with a giant sack of spuds everytime he connects...and Joe relies on being able to absorb hits with his style of fighting.

You appear to have invented a new skill for him - clearly this is a fantasy fight because Joe never stepped up against a prime above SMW, but you are treating it like a 'fantasy Calzaghe'....something very different.

Well, I don't remember Joe getting Ktfo by a journeyman, and laying on his back for 5 minutes!:huh

    Joe can take a shot.

    :lol::rofl

Um, 11.9 punches a round is not throwing a lot. It is disgraceful. Calzaghe could throw one punch at a time and use movement/running. That is all he would need to do against the slow as molasses Ruiz. You are embarrassing yourself in this thread. :patsch

    The Lacy fight!
Mayweather can learn a thing or two from Calzaghe in that fight. Now that's beautiful boxing. Not weak potshots and shoulder rolling.:bart

You may have had he fought on as far past his best as Roy Jones did.

Calzaghe does not have the ability to mimic Roy's blueprint... Calzaghe fought nothing like Roy.. Calzaghe took shots to land his, and that would not have worked at HW.. You are talking about a fighter that didn't exist.

You are more of a Calzaghe dick rider than I am a fan of Roy.. it is pathetic.

This thread is riddled with Jones haters, that don't even have the common courtesy of picking Joe's pubes from their hideous teeth before talking.

i only came back to this Thread for this answer, as the usual drivel exists elsewhere and isn't worth wasting any more of my time on.

YOU'RE THE ONE WHO MADE THE ACCUSATION ABOUT THE REFS LIKE YOU HAD ALL THE ANSWERS. SO GIVE ME THE ANSWERS OR PROVE THAT YOU WERE TALKING **** AS PER USUAL.

    Thanks. :think

you really think that Joe wouldn't be able to last a round with a slow guy who had little to no boxing ability, and had poor accuracy?

    really!?

you're usually a sane poster MR, but when it come to Jones and Calzaghe, you lose all common sense. :deal

:huh so Joe had to take shots to land his?

Sheika, Lacy, Veit, Kessler etc etc...

looks like you haven't even seen most of Joe's fights with comments like that.

    Seen all those fights...

I am mostly comparing him to Roy when saying that... Joe did not have the ability to make fighters miss like Roy did.

He would have taken more flush shots from Ruiz than Roy did. Hitting and not being there to be hit was a consistent style Roy had in his prime.. Joe was not as good at that.

And again Assasin, we are comparing performances at SMW as to how Joe would have done at HW??
