Yao is gigantic. Bigger than Pac & Rios put together.

I had Darchinyan up after 8 rounds, 6-1-1 rounds, 79-74 points, scoring the first round even, and giving Donaire the 2nd round. Darchinyan carried the fight, his workrate wasn't great, but he had the effective aggression, and he had the big advantage in ring generalship, clearly fighting the fight he wanted. I do not know how he managed to neutralize Donaire's left hook for so long, since he carried his right hand so low during the fight, and he wasn't really moving to his left very much, instead he bobbed and weaved, moving in and out. Donaire was so tentative most of the fight, and through the first 8 rounds he was only landing single shots. It was as if he was waiting to land the ONE big left hook, but he did nothing to move or to box his way into setting it up. Finally in the 9th round he landed the big right and then the HUGE left hook that sent Darchinyan down and effectively ended the fight. Good stoppage by Cole. Donaire's postfight comments, thinking "Is this it?", only reinforce my thoughts that he is now damaged goods, whether because Rigondeaux stole his boxing soul, or because having a child has changed him. All credit to Darchinyan for a fantastic first 8 rounds, but if a 37 year old banger can OUTBOX Donaire for 8 rounds, I do not see Donaire having a bright future at 126, when everybody will be bigger than him.

Donaire better retreat back to Super Bantam or it's curtains for him.

I wasn't even referring to whatever the outcome of Pacquiao vs. Rios may be, actually.

Win lose or draw - Rios' style lends itself to a short career. If he thinks he is a rising star he is bound for disappointment. He will be shot to bits and punchy by 2015 if keeps up at the current rate slugging with top guys.
