I personally think the thread is in bad taste and would not have started it. It is also a stupid thread. Did you really expect someone to explain why Dean did it? Who would know? All you did was start a meaningless thread that no doubt a close friend or family member will see and turn their stomach.

Also not just this one but what happened to starting a thread with some substance? A silly two worded question. You can type your silly questions into Google and save us from reading this ****.

Don't click on the thread if you don't want to read it. Nobody has a gun to your head. You remind me of the idiots who come on forums after fights and then cry about posters spoiling the result.

I look forward to reading your threads and posts displaying your boxing knowledge.

As for this thread I stand by what I have written.

  7. If this thread helps one individual to understand and/or identify a suicidal individual suffering from depression and that person can then make a difference to avoid another tragic ending, then what on earth is the problem with this thread FFS.

Have read nothing but positive comments on here and Dean's family would be very pleased if they knew how well respected he was even by people who never met him.

Give the OP a break unless someone has any evidence that he is malicious.

I think this should be discussed. Its become an epidemic,in the western world ur more likely to die from suicide than anything else.theres a great article from a cork hurler called cusack.google it,you,l not be dissapointed-he's the brother of doña log Cossack, the greatest keeper ever to play hurling.really powerful stuff about how dark it feels when affected by deep depression.

I do respect the views of folk who find this thread a little too close to the bone, but in all fairness no one here has been disrespectful to the guy.

What REALLY baffles me though is why would anyone even view a thread in the first place if the subject matter isn't to their liking? (edit: silly-illy you beat me to it).

This is the internet. You can't police it, and it's no good expecting everyone to behave as YOU think they should.

My sympathies go out to everyone involved, not least the train driver. A sad tale this was.

    Fair enough post.

However do you really think a boxing forum is the place where the Dean Powell situation can discussed, when we are not in possession of the facts.

Subjects as sensitive as suicide and depression, I completely agree need researching and discussing, but a boxing forum as volatile as this is in my opinion not the place.

Good post although we are disagreeing on the subject.

With regards part of your post I have highlighted, I am not stupid or naive enough to expect things on forums of this nature to run smoothly.

All I am stating there are certain subjects due to not having the facts, and as sensitive as this thread are best left alone out of respect for Dean and his family.

There's a phrase which has been used on this thread and other subjects "if you dont like the thread, dont open it or comment on it", all I say to that is whats the point of a forum if people cannot agree/disagree on subjects WHICH ARE NOT as sensitive and raw as this particular topic.

Depression and suicide are very complex sensitive subjects and when terrible things like the Dean Powell situation happen, I am convinced we should respect the family who have to live the rest of their lives without a loved one wondering why.

the point of the thread was to see if anybody had and would share the facts.
