Not saying Khan is the best option from a pure boxing stand point, but we all know that financials are involved. It is prize fighting. From a financial stand point maybe Khan is the next best option and from now until next June when May's September fight is announced, someone will emerge to make sense both from a boxing and money view.

Danny Garcia is the most deserving IMO. But Khan brings in more $ and Danny Garcia and his father have both basically said they are not looking for a Mayweather fight yet. He wants to go to 147 and ease into the division. I can respect that and if he keeps winning he continues to be the most deserving and the money starts to build.

If Cotto wins his next fight I can see a lot of momentum going back his way as well.

For guys like Molina, Lara and Trout; they need to gain the opportunity to beat a guy like Cotto or Canelo for the general boxing public to recognize them and want to see a May fight. Its the general fans that are going to drive the PPV sales, not the hardcore fans. Fighters need a name or a story line.
