Sergio Martinez gets roughed up, dropped and has to rely on a hometown decision to beat Martin Murray.

Diego Chaves went to war with Keith Thurman, he gave a great effort but came off second best.

Lucas Matthysse was seen as something of a terminator and was favoured by many people to beat Danny Garcia in a very highly anticipated fight, but Garcia proved his metal and outlasted Matthysse in a great fight.

Javier Maciel was beaten by Brian Rose when many fancied he would K.O Rose.

Is Maidana gonna be the next one to fall? or could he rip up the script against Broner the way he did a few years ago with Ortiz ?

Na, many think Matthysse won or drew with Garcia, Sergio was injure prone and not 100% vs Murray, Chaves and Maciel virtually unknowns, and Maidana, well, he's a hot and cold fighter, wins some, loses some, BUT always is a threat that can surprise anyone. Other thing about Maidana, now that he's not a spring chicken anymore he fights off the jab now, which was non-existant before in his arsenal, he willing to box more. That might fall into Broner's favor, keeping it in the center of the ring. The more aggressive, earlier version of Maidana might of smothered Broner, but Maidana more resourceful now. The Argentinians gonna be here for awhile be sure of that.

Its not been that bad. Martinez even though he struggled against Murray hes still the undisputed number one at middleweight, Chavez was unknown if anything his good showing in a losing effort against one of the best young fighters around in Thurman made him a more known fighter and a guy that people will keep an eye at, Maciel isnt even a blip in in the great scheme of things he was irrelevant before and hes irrelevant now.

The Mathyssse loss was the one that hurt the most cause it wasnt expected most people including the argentinian fans were expecting that Lucas would go through Garcia like he was nothing and thats not what happened and instead he got beat by a fighter many thought was inferior to him so that one really hurt but he will comeback. Maidana will have a difficult time against Broner i think his style is tailor made for Broner but maybe he can surprise us and pull off the upset, either way as long as keeps putting on good shows win or lose he will keep getting good fights and get some good paydays.

Also they still have Omar Narvaez and JC Reveco both of who are champions in the lower weight classes, overall theres been a few bumps for argentinian boxing but the country is still doing very well boxing wise and i think they will continue to do so and will maintain the top spot in boxing in South America.

Argentines bring out the best overall boxers in South America...

    Colombia is hit or miss..

Brazil is miss or almost hit...

Guyana is pretty dormant (Unless Lennox Allen keeps winning)

Ecuador has potential to catch up...

But yeah, Argentine has been holding it down for an entire continent...

Nobody thinks that Matthysse drew or beat Danny except Matthysse's fans. They Argentinians had their time in the sun. Broner is about to put the lights out on Argentina for another few years.
