Ustinov will beat Tua. Tua is shot and Ustinov is granite chinned... not to mention Ustinov was able to beat Barrett pretty easily, Tua lost to and drew with Barrett! barrett even managed to knock down and nearly KO Tua! Seems to me that Tuas lost some of his power, and that his chin has declined a bit as well.

Usitinov will take this, I could see it being an ugly fight where Ustinov wins by Jabbing and all Tua does is look for his left hook.

Ill keep you up to date on the Barrett situation. 1st fight was around the time that Tua was hugely over weight and was there for a pay check. Because of the draw a rematch was made. In the time of the rematch Tua had many family problems surrounding the relationship with his wife and their living situation. Unfortunately this was not used in a positive way in the fight. No excuses for Tua but he was in a bad place at that time and it really showed.

I mean, Shane Cameron KO'd Barrett cold with a 1 punch knockout. This is the dude that Tua somewhat retired from Heavyweight aspirations.

As far as loss of power goes...really? i think not. If you look at those fights with Barrett he hardly threw any significant power shots. When he went out in the 12th round in the 2nd fight with a fire under his ass he broke Monte Barretts jaw with the only significant punch of the fight...

I hope Tua gets up and gets the KO as he is in very good shape at his age and what he has been through of late. But i am not holding my breath. Hes doing good things over here for the kids at the moment as well so it would be nice to see their icon put on a show.

Tua is expected to weigh in at 107kg. Before the fights promotion he was 50kg heavier...

No muscle left? I hope you watch the fight. Those calves/quads are looking outrageous.

But are the skills and power still fully there?

I like both of them, Ustinov is very humble for a guy with his size and Tua is cool in a strange and freakish way. Maybe I will be rooting for Ustinov mainly because I have seen most of his fights and I see what happens when he connects 2-3 powershots - people just crumble no matter how big they are (only Pulev didn't for some reason) and Tua is a small guy.

Tua on the other hand also has super powerful hook so it will be utterly exciting if he manages to stop Ustinov with it. However, I am sad because its a creer end for one of them. For Tua it will be the very end while Ustinov will officially lose any respect for his boxing abilites if he gets beaten by 40yrs old non-active has been legend.

    its not that.

its whether he has the mongrel still in him. does he want to tear his opponents head off or not is the question imo.

Ustinov is 6 feet 8 inches tall and around 300 lbs., or so....................he has a good chin. Pulev did beat Ustinov, but Pulev is one of the top fighters in the world. I give Ustinov the edge unless Tua is as good as he was years ago, when Lennox Lewis hugged Tua for 12 rounds, more like a dancing contest............

How many years has Tua been out of boxing? He could have been rich by now, but he wasted all those years. Bad management? Seems like I read about bad management quite often now.

I have noticed that boxers have been having more and more and more injuries. Roids?

Tua's weighed in at 107.5kg and looking leaner than we've seen him since the Cameron fight.
For me it'll all come down to what David does early - if he plods looking for 1 shot he'll never find it, but if he opens fast like he did against Cameron, or how he fought that 12th round against Barrett i.e. actually throwing punches and trying to hurt the other guy, then he'll have too much for Ustinov.
When Tua has a reason to hurt you, he will.
Cameron gave him that by running his mouth in the lead up to the fight.
Tua's corner woke him up before that 12th round and gave him the reason against Barrett.
He's obviously in good shape, I believe that if his skills haven't completely deserted him, and he has the fire in his belly, that reason to be angry and deliver punishment, Ustinov will wake up half an hour after the fight wondering what the hell just happened.
