Tua and his management should try and set up a fight with Wilder.. If Tua beats Wilder he will shoot up the rankings and be very close to a title shot, I still think Tuaman has what what it takes to knock out the glass jawed crude windmilling joke, just the breeze from Tuas left hook would knock Wilder stiff :rofl That or Tua could fight SBW... that fight would generate a lot if interest in NZL.
SBW isn't even boxing anymore and Tua would finish him in half a round. Tua Vs Parker would create a lot of interest. Maybe now we can see how much of a man Joseph Parker is, it's all good and well to call out a very green SBW, but how about he takes on a real fighter in Tua.
Yeah that would be a decent scrap, big step up for Parker... Parker looks like he has some skills and power from what ive seen.
if his heart aint in the game the he needs to retire like he said....if his heart was in it, he would have fought more than a few times in the last 5 years....they guy doesnt want to fight anymore
he seriously should have come back against two low level types...fight them both with little time in-between (don't wait 6 months between fights), and then looked at a ustinov type fight tua was 350 pounds leading up to this fight!!! he lost 110 just in preparation to it so him losing 110 pounds and coming back from a two year layoff against a guy who is almost a foot taller than you...not a good idea im not saying that tua would have done anything great at all...nor am i saying that ustinov is very good fighter... but at least tua could have gotten himself in better shape and in better form and made himself better prepared for a higher caliber guy
The only reason for Tua to keep boxing is that he is broke. Even in his prime he was usually far from top shape, and I do not believe it will change all of sudden now when he is 40+. He was outboxed widely by Ustinov... I think this does not need any additional comment.
Unfortunately, this is true. It's hard for anyone to come back in their 40's, let alone short guy like Tua. His power makes him a threat against anyone, but at the same time, realistically that home run punch is not going to find a home 95% of the time. There are a number of tall, rangy fighters out there, many of whom are better than Ustinov, and many of whom could outbox Tua and keep him at bay. Tua really can only go so far, and that ceiling is nowhere near championship level. Ten years ago? Yeah, he could pick himself up and continue on but now? No. There is no point in it.
