I thought Hendricks clearly won the first round and so won the fight. I will watch it again in a minute. EDIT- Watched the first round again. He clearly won the first round. Can't understand how anyone can say otherwise.
George looked old but that could have just been Hendricks. GSP is used to being stronger but he never looked stronger. GSP is used to be the better wrestler but in 25 mins he was never comfortable at wrestling with Hendricks. Finally, he didn't look particularly fast and Hendricks early blows troubled him. Hendricks solid chin didn't help either. I wasn't scoring but it looked like GSP has a case based on how many times he hit Hendricks but when you consider who imposed their fight, damage etc then GSP appeared fortunate. An immediate rematch is required but GSPs head doesn't seem in the right place.
Dude, I'm not a big fan of GSP, I dislike montreal and don't care for the frenchies, no disrespect intended. I was also very pleased to see the canadian physco get rocked and lose. But I'm not an idiot, a fight is judged each round seperately and doesn't take a rocket scientist to see GSP win rounds 3 and 5. Round 1 was basically a draw but we all know the champ gets the nod on those ones. GSP outlanded Hendricks throughout the fight also, minus the 2nd round barrage, GSP standing was outboxing him! I couldn't care less if GSP lost but seeing Hendricks celebrating as if he was already declared the winner was sickening. I've never seen anyone do that to that extent, shows how wet behind the ears he is. Then sitting there tryin to act cool and sing, pacing back and fourth before the 5th was ridiculous. At that point the fight was up for grabs. And lets not forget the crowd booing him and they didn't care GSP won, he didn't get much applause and some boo's but the crowd really boo'd when hendricks said he won and deserved the win all bitter like and then had to tell the crowd "you didn't see the fight I fought I guess then". LOL Well, they just did and didn't agree with him saying he won the fight.
 Lets do some math, GSP won 1-3-5, Hendricks won 2 and 4. Humm, 3 rounds for gsp to 2 rounds for hendricks = WIN GSP. And don't forget Hendricks tapped n the first round so anything after is truly irrelevant!
Hendricks got the better of the stand up in the first round. GSP didn't really do anything while of the top of my head I am remember Hendricks landing all those elbows, big left uppercut and a knee to the head. GSP didn't do anything when he took him down (there wasn't a tap-wasn't even a choke on) and got taken down himself (again nothing happened from it). GSP couldn't outwrestle him.
I was ok with the decision and would have been ok with Hendricks getting the decision Just a rail thin fight where both men had success of their own Thought 1 and 4 were all Hendricks while 2 was GSP's, 3 and 5 were up for grabs Thought it was interesting that round 1 decided the fight on all 3 cards and if that is the case I think Hendricks should have won if they agreed on all 4 of the other rounds I felt Hendricks really took 1
Hendricks landed the much harder, bone crushing shots. Hendricks also didnt let GSP do anything on the ground when GSP took him their. As for the tap.. Come on dude. You're really pulling at straws Flex. You also failed to mention Johny also took GSP down.. PS: The 2nd round should of been 10-8.. Since Hendricks almost KO'D Rush!
Was the worst decision since Jones-Gus... Jones didn't win that bout. And 1 judge had it 4 rounds to 1 for Jones.. :-( And I used to praise the UFC for fair judging unlike Boxing. Boy was I wrong.. :yikes
oh lets not forget wtf was yamasaki doing stopping the action while Georges was literally 1 or 2 punches from being iced? he tried to walk Hendricks back to the corner to put the piece back in and hendricks literally took it out his hand and put it back in himself.
People saying Hendridcks won the first round don`t give much account the fact that GSP landed two very nice kicks to Hendricks face! When I judge fights, my criteria includes the beauty and technicality of effective maneveurs and strikes as well as damage. 1, 2 5 GSP for me because he was the defending champion and did enough in my eyes. I have no issues with people saying it could go either way in this one depending on what you like, but the champ was the better professional here clearly, and also was defending his belt. Johnny did not do enough. He should have done less singing and smiling and more trying to finish the fight.
