"Golovkin's 'grappling ability' is superior to Ward's" - Abel Sanchez

Abel Sanchez is doing alot of barking, but when Ward calls their bluff and says simake the fight here come the excuses.

 

What part of "Anybody between 154 and 168" does Ward not understand?
Is he still @168? If so, then he has been called out.

funny, GGG and his team seem to entertain the thought of the fight, yet his fans start crying and making excuses when Ward gets mentioned.

I wondered, could fans be treated to a Ward-Golovkin matchup in the near future?

It is obvious that this fight is meant to happen and will happen. This fight already started actually. The thing for both fighters is to get maximum amount of money from that event. What GGG team is doing - is building Golovkin into superstar, before trying to bargain with Ward, who is known to be not too generous with his offers to the opponents. They meet in the ring the moment the split will be even.
There is no bigger fight for GGG on the horizon than fight with Ward. After the fight will happen, no other opponent will be regarded as a real challenge for Golovkin inside 160-168.
For the fans the name of the game could be boxing, but for the fighters the name is - prizefighting. No prize, no fighting.

 

Dream fight? who wants to see a mismatch Ward is just too big and skillful for GGG.

 

Of course Abel's going to sell Golovkin any chance he gets. Tell me Sanchez's marketing and GGG's performances aren't working at turning GGG into a star, though. Look at this growth rate:

vs Proksa (HBO debut): 685,000
vs Rosado: 813,000
vs Macklin: 1.1 million
vs Stevens: 1.4 million

Dawson-Ward did 1.3 million, to put it in perspective, and HBO spent a lot more on it. The longer the fight takes to get made, the less likely it will be that Andre can dictate the terms of it.

 

Alot of boxers pre-1950's used to incorporate Greco-Roman Wrestling into their training because of the benefits to their overall body strength and grappling technique to aid them in clinches. Boxing and Wrestling are the two biggest sports in Kazakhstan and Golovkin clearly with Greco-Roman.

Does Ward fight @ 168lbs or not?

 

GGG will brutally beat Ward just like did with Bute (the man Ward ducked) in the amateurs

 

When I first watched Golovkin-Stevens I got the impression GGG was seriously hurt with that vicious left hook from Curt in rd 5. I thought that ended any bright ideas regarding Ward and a foray into 168, where obviously more murderous-punching bad mothers hang out.

I rewatched the fight, and although GGG was stunned and froze for a split second it was clear his chin could handle the occasional big bombs from Main Event. He was still boxing though and careful not to give an opening for Curtis' left hooks all throughout.

I think Gennady can hang with them '68 bad boys...

He'll most likely be the underdog, rightfully, against Ward but this fight will be very, very interesting to say the least.
