It's well known that Ali copied his whole schtick from Gorgeous George (source: Remnick bio, actually the story is available in many places)

So doesn't this mean that greatest influence on hip hop was a white pro wrestler pretending to be gay? This would explain a lot about hip hop I think.

 

Now all you need to convince is 320 million plus Muricans.

 

I lived in Philly from the 50s to 84 and met Joe often in the gyms. He had such dignity. This clown Ali lover is just mad that for once a documentary sees their history is from Joe's side much like "Ghosts of Manila" did. A great book. Joe was a hero, I feel Ali was just a self-centered phony.

 

Makes one. we don"t know that Joe couldn"t, nor would he need too.

 

Just for my own amusement, could you start a thread about a fighter you don't have "the utmost respect" for? That might really be something to read.

In that case could you please translate on behalf of the mumbling, stumbling, shaking like a leaf, incoherent creature known as Muhammad Ali, cos I don't have a f***ing clue what he is supposed to be waffling about.
