any1 who was promoted by don king, in the past he ripped of his fighters money wise, these days he signs them while their young and keeps matching them with bums to pad their records and pays them diddle sqwat in the promise for the big pay day coz they with Don King ! ...Australians Kali Meehan and Paul Briggs wasted time under him got paid **** all and waited a long time between fights prime example.
I would say add Stiverne to the list as he's is getting ****ed royally from 3 sides. Don King, WBC, Vitali. Where are the days of the public lockup where people only ate when food was brought to them by family or friends and the general public could throw whatever they wanted at the guilty. i guarantee people wouldn't pull this shite if the consequences were harsher
Adrian Broner. He has been in MD and SD in fights that should've been shut outs. He barely gets any network coverage because of his clean cut role model like behaviour and has to fight dangerous all time greats like Vincete Rodriguez and dangerous power punchers like Malignaggi to win world titles when the most more straight forward fights of Takashi Uchiyama and Floyd Mayweather Jr was also belt holders.
I am not sure about ever but in terms of being screwed financially Rocky Marciano comes to mind not only was Al Weil (I Joe Louis that's his name) taking about half of his boxing checks but even after Rocky retired he close to that cuz he owned Rocky's name and likeness. That's why Rocky always insisted on being paid cash for his appearances. Joe Louis was also screwed. To get the fight with Jim Braddock he had to give him 10% of everything on top of what he was paying his manager and promoter. Plus that whole income tax thing where his accountants told him he could deduct the war relief when he gave his whole check up. As far as boxing records go I always think of how they screwed Pernell Whitaker everytime he fought a Mexican or Mexican/American in big fights. As far as the whole career it's gotta be Emanuel Augustus. That guy clearly beat a grip of fighters and couldn't get the decisions.
Joe Louis for sure. Donating his purses for the country. Doing these great patriotic things for the USA during WW2 only to come back after to shitloads of debt/eroded boxing skills/IRS coming after him fight after fight taking his money. Was forced to earn money through pro wrestling/refereeing pro wrestling/being a RODEO clown and was still hunted by the IRS. Not only this but he was constantly made fun of by the media for going into pro wrestling (Something that he had to do to make even some money). But I guess it was his fault somewhat. Spent too much during WW2, far beyond what he should have even though his advisors told him not to.
Rigo is pretty muched screwed...sucks becuz i would like to see him more expose on tv and get more pro bouts on his resume.
Emanuel Burton/Augustus.. Had real skill, but actually had judges that would give rounds to other fighters when he did his little dance fighting even though he clearly won round, just because they didnt like it. He also had possibly the classiest moment ive ever seen in boxing in 2005 when he fought Ray Olivera.
wtf would campos accept 7 grand? i dont get that oh and did you see the dumb fu.cks on the other thread acussing me of being Mr Pibb too? :rofl
