PHILADELPHIA, PA (November 21, 2013)One of the most interested spectators at this Saturday nights welterweight clash between Manny Pacquiao and Brandon Rios will be WBO Jr. welterweight champion Ruslan Provodnikov. Provodnikov will be ringside at the Cotai Arena in the Venetian and he will have more than a passing interest in the bout. Provodnikov may see a future opponent as well he will be there to support Pacquiao and trainer Freddie Roach. "I made sure I was in Macau to support my friend Manny Paquiao in his big return to the ring, and I will be rooting for him in this fight.", said Provodnikov.
Let's see how Pac does in the ring. Ruslan vs either Pac or Rios has the makings of the kind of scary bloodbath that would leave me worrying for both fighters' health (touch wood).
Love Provodnikov! The heart of a lion, but so grounded. What a great interview it was between Provo and Alvarado with Kellerman acting as intermediary before their fight. Provo said how he had absolute respect for Alvarado and stated sincerely he would pray for him and light a candle when in church. This was not the Arreola Kiss On the Cheek kind of statement after Arreola KO'd his man. This was genuine respect shown by Provo for the man in front of him, the warrior he was about to meet in the ring. What a class act! I only wish he would take some time off. His last two bouts have been wars. He has to let his body and mind recover.
Provodnikov is a beast would love to see him fight the winner of Pac-Rios next, hell even the loser would make for a great fight, bottom line is Provodnikov against anyone is must see TV.
Bradley with his pillow fists hurt Provodnikov and kept him honest a fair few times in their fight. Even if the Manny fight would happen, and it won't, imagine what happens when Manny peppers the easily hit Flatfootnikov
Provodnikov vs. Rios is almost desirable enough a proposition to make one root for Rios tomorrow. :yep
yeah that would be an epic-sweet slugfest. Even if Brandon loses vs Pac I still want to see him vs Provodnikov killing each other inside the ring. :yep
For some reason, Pacquiao vs. Provodnikov just doesn't stir the same kind of feelings in me. I'm sure it would be lively and everything, but it simply lacks the same appeal Rios vs. Prododnikov has. I would honestly prefer it be Rios even if he loses.
...because he is more concerned with giving the fans great wars than in anything else. :nod Well documented. He is like the Santa Claus of brutality. Pacquiao vs. Provodnikov would be cool, but Rios vs. Provodnikov would be INSANE.
