I couldn't have said it better. Great overview and assessment. Very well stated.

    Both have equal power
    both have equal chins
    tyson has a better defense
    so tyson wins!

While I agree that Tyson is much better than Tua, there are some bad points.

As much as I like Tyson, in 2002 he was only the shadow of Tyson from 95-97, let alone Tyson from 86-88.

Fight against Lewis was competitive only in the 1st rd, which Mike won.
Mike was unprepared, drug-addicted, overweight, slow and was tired as early as 2nd round.

Lewis dominated Tyson from 2nd round, but it doesn't tell us anything about prime Lewis vs prime Tyson. It would've been completely different story.

What bad points? you didnt actually say :good

I acknowledge Tyson was nowhere near what he once was, but i feel at least in the first 4 rounds, Tyson tried to give it a go and you could say he was one punch from finishing it at any time, Tua was nowhere near that and basically followed Lewis round the ring for 12 rounds.

Although Lewis dominated from round 2 onwards, Tyson was still in it until round 4, after that it was all Lewis and just a matter of time.

Tua was never competitive and never in the fight at all.

I think Tuas power is slightly overrated.

Tyson knocked out more quality opponents, durable guys, some whod never been stopped before and some were never stopped since. He stopped guys in one round whod fought numerous other great heavyweights and werent stopped that early.

Tuas best 2 Kos are Ruiz (Which was a good one) and a past prime Moorer, who never had a good chin to begin with. See my previous posts

I agree that Tyson was trying till the end but the fight wasn't competitive from 2nd round on. That actually tells us much about his heart as Mike didn't gave up despite one-sided beating, and he wasn't playing safe and never used fouls in this fight.

Overall, Tyson had far better speed and better skills than Tua and it's not even comparable. Can you imagine Maskaev or Izon lasting vs prime Tyson for 11-12 rds and leading on points?

Tua would've been outboxed by the likes of Tucker and Ruddock, probably beaten by Smith and Bruno aswell.

Who said he wasn't better than Tua? I just thought it was rich Tyson fans saying Tua was over rated when Iron Mike might be the single most over rated boxer of all time.

But to a certain degree, Tyson deserves some of the accolades that come his way. Tua is just a myth Koing glass jawed fighters and **** poor competition and people make him out to be a monster.

Tyson would eat Ibeabuchi and Rahman and **** them out. The only guy on Tuas resume that would/could beat Tyson is Lewis.

Tyson could ko Ruiz and Moorer no problem. And these are Tuas 2 best wins. Look at Tuas other best wins, i covered this in a previous post, these guys would not last that long against Tyson (at his best)

Tua by brutal KO, he's bigger, stronger and has an iron cast CHIN! Hits much harder too, if you observe carefully, Tua regularly knocks guys out with punches that aren't even totally loaded up on a la the right hand that put Michael Moorer to sleep in 30 seconds while Tyson bends his knees and loads up and throws himself into the punch with all his weight to knock guys out and Tyson is NOT good at taking punches from a guy who hits much harder than him, he will mentally break down as he has never experienced that before while Tua NEVER had problems taking heavy punches, watch the Ibeabuchi fight where Ibeabuchi bombs Tua for 12 rounds straight with everything he has and then some without being able to put a single bruise on him.
