This could prove to be cynically correct, or foolishly naive I'm somewhere in between Well .. actually I'm not, because I like Groves by decision
Well, I definitely think he would retire. His pride would really take a nosedive. Unless Groves won a very close decision, then he'd be screaming for a return. Looking forward to it now. Capital G for Groves by the way.
I see don't know how Groves has this weak chin he has been down and touched canvas from Kenny Anderson but we have also seen Froch touch down from Jermain Taylor. I am not for a minute saying that Groves' chin is on par from Froch's cause I would sound like a nut job. He has the opportunity and if he can execute the game plan then I think he can do this. To be honest I really see this being a 50/50 fight to be honest. I won't lie Froch is expected to win but the hungry contender has the arsenal to out box froch.
Maybe not,but I think he's more determined and more ambitious.Wharton had a great chin.We may find out on Saturday about George in this department.
Its looked fragile in other fights, i think Froch smells blood and will force the stoppage. you need a sturdy chin vs Froch and i just don't think Groves has it. we shall see soon enough though.:good
Personally, I think its a ploy from Froch who relates his reference to George as "having a weak chin" to the sparring sessions they had when Froch put him over. Aside from the experience, Froch has maybe one other tangible advantage over Groves and thats his durability. Groves is quicker, more agile, sharper & younger than Froch. Its intriguing the way Froch has decided to "play down" George as a real contender but says things like "it would be a disaster to lose to George Groves". Reading into the physiology of it, it actually paints a picture that Froch is taking Groves very very seriously and knows what Groves is bringing.
The way Groves moves around the ring and his upper body movement could pose a problem for Froch, he isn't the best at cutting a ring off
Ive a tenner on Groves beating Froch by stoppage. 8/1 I genuinely dont see Froch having much success at all, and Groves pretty much embarassing him. Just my opinion of course.
My bet for the fight is Froch 5-8 stoppage for 50 quid and Groves on points 50 quid just feel if it goes the distance Groves wins
And has his left hook; then it might be interesting... But I personally do wonder if Groves can take Froch's shots for 12 rounds, and deal with the pressure of a big fight where he walks in a fairly big underdog.
Think in the sense of Groves being the underdog, young & in a big fight as long as he can handle the pressure what's he got to lose as long as he doesn't freeze & puts in a good account? Can he come again no doubt. Froch to win by TKO for me around the 8th but who is the pressure on Froch IMO simply because he is the A side fighter & stage of his career.
:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl i will remember this post, just to tell you after the fight how baldy wrong you were. you will owe Mr Froch an apology.:good
Feel free. You get him to ring me and i'll apologise to him :good Otherwise, my humble opinion (if he should have any idea it exists) will likely mean nothing to him.
