How the hell did Hendricks clearly win 1st? With some short, low power, elbows? GSP landed the better strikes, and had a decent submission attempt to accompany his take down of Hendricks. Hendricks did nothing with his takedown of GSP. The only other moments Hendricks had are questionable. I don't think the uppercut Rogan yelled about landed flush, if it landed at all. There was a knee, but it didn't really land. GSP ran into it on the way down.
Hendricks' elbow strikes were the same kind of elbows that Feijao used to knock out King Mo and more recently Travis Browne kodding Gonzaga. Anything but low power. Rogan was three feet away looking at it calling the shot.
If they were the same type of elbows used against Mo or Gonzaga, GSP would have gone to sleep. GSP was holding onto the leg and fighting for the takedown. He could let go any time he wanted to if they were hurting him that badly. If Rogan had screamed every time GSP landed a punch, it would have sounded like GSP won every round.
i thought those elbows were pretty high in damage. They knotted gsp's head all up. while gsps punches all looked kinda like jab-ish in power. And unfortunately submission attempts score you no points. If you're on your back for the whole round throwing up submission attempts we've seen them give the round to the guy on top defending before....which whether or not i agree with is how it is. Pettis-Guida is an example
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...each-weight-division-following-ufc-167#page/1 GSP's coach claiming that Dana White called GSP the next day and apologised and said after rewatching the fight, he did feel GSP won.
LOL how embarrassing for Dana. To blast the commission for the decision. I knew the fight was too close to say that for either man winning. GSP won 1, 3 and 5, but 1 could have went either way I will admit. GSP showed the heart of a champion though and hendricks blew it in round 5. GSP should retire now, he wasn't the same fighter in that fight, looked weak and shaken before the fight even started. It really is a surprise he performed as well as he did considering he's either mentally done, or hit the wall and over the hill now.
Rogan is such a joke. They really need someone professional and unbiased in his position. They way he treated GSP after was sickening also. Rolled his eyes at Hendricks to say he didnt agree with the decision, right behind GSPs back before interviewing him and then not giving the respect to GSP to announce his retirement. I kinda liked Rogan before this but that was shameful, he was dying for Hendricks to win and acting like a kid getting his first hands on a girls boobs anytime GSP was in relative trouble.
