I thought it might be a mismatch, it really didn't turn out that way. groves showed that he had the power at world level that i doubted, he also showed his toughness. Froch was poor for most of the fight, sloppy and very wild. He showed his toughness yet again though as most men would have been knocked out. Froch was looking like he might get to him in the later rounds but the ref took that chance away from Groves as Groves might have done well in rounds 10,11 and 12 but we will never know now. I feel sorry for Groves and he deserves a rematch. :good
Got my respect tonight, got a great future, he will learn from this, but shouldn't have got involved and just kept boxing.
Groves showed his worth. He looked tremendous in the first four rounds. He was out-landing and bullying Froch around the ring. Never fought I would see Froch being backed up like that. Groves is for real. And he possesses devastating power. Froch has a granite chin, every punch that landed, he was feeling it. If Groves fights more disciplined and conservative he will outclass most of the current fighters at SMW. He has it all really. He just needs to keep his discipline and not get to silly in there.
All the **** at Shenume and Jquik saying this was a walk over at every possible chance-,mocking people for thinking groves had a chance when actually you both have be proven to be complete knobs. A wrong prediction happens, part of boxing, life etc but the way you 2 went on at people in every single thread was ridiculous. Quite funny how even in defeat Groves proved you 2 wrong in a huge way
When Froch talks about legacy and honour, he needs to give Groves a rematch. He cares what the people think. The Manchester crowd said it all. Fair play to them, because they were not neutrals at the start
:good groves has earned the re match, its only fair he gets one. Froch was looking like getting the stoppage but who knows for sure?, the ref is a ****.
I haven't posted recently but I've seen Shenume's comments and I agree with you about him being a bit of a knob but the fact he's now said that he was wrong about Groves is more than most on here would do. Most would stick to their guns and claim Froch winning was never in doubt.
I love how all the very vocal know it alls predicted a totally one sided mismatch that all us mugs have been duped into paying for. What a mismatch that was!
I don't even want a rematch, because Groves will have lost before he even gets in the ring, I have suspicions Eddie paid the ref and judges for this fight and won't hesitate to do it again.
Ha great username, i was wrong tonight. It is Boxing it happens. I shouldn't have posted as much as i did. made me look slighty foolish. I think froch was going to get the stoppage because if you watch round 8 and 9 Froch was starting to get to a faded Groves. but we won't ever know. groves might have been alright and did well in rounds 10,11 and 12. Ironically it might not have mattered because after the 9th it would have been level on two score cards which is laughable. i honestly don't mind any stick i get on here. Its all a bit of banter. ( i have been tongue in cheek all week, but i did believe froch would win in 6 rounds)
Like I said posting reasons etc you think someone will win is fair enough but they both mocked others who thought otherwise on every single thread. Even Shenmue in this thread could only muster 'might be a mismatch' there was no 'might' about the posts,it was certainty. Groves proved himself tonight and hopefully earned the respect of certain posters who professed it was never going to happen
Pointless him going back there, we all know who the better boxer is now. Plenty of other fights out there and now he's proved his worth he might get the backing of his promoter against one of the other big fighters out there for him. Only hope is Eddy seeing which way the wind is blowing and sacrificing Carl in the rematch.
