How did you score Froch Groves??

    I had it 74-77. I think you'd have a hard time arguing it was closer then that....the only really clear round Carl won before the stoppage was the 5th round.....

    All that being said Carl Froch was going to knock him the **** out. Don't pay attention to the hype machine David haye saying you don't know how Groves would have recovered.......I've only ever really seen 1 or 2 fights where a guy is clearly slowing and then gets broken that early and still comes back to win....

    Personally, I feel that giving Froch more than 2 rounds is being exceedingly generous. Even in the 2 rounds where Froch did better, he was still probably outpointed, it's just that he had one or two moments. Froch at most won 2 rounds. At the very most. It was an one sided affair.

    Originally scored 3, 5 & 8 for Carl Froch. Rewatched and 3, 5 were close. 1,6,7 clear Groves round. 2 & 4 for Groves. 8 very clear Froch round, Jim Watt's commentary on that round was absolutely awful. Groves up by 4 or 5 round seems right. That stoppage was so so bad. Groves's legs were shaky and I think he might have gone in the next 20 seconds (especially as he insisted on fighting back rather than holding or taking a knee), but not close to a good stoppage from Hughes, who I hope has the decency to admit he got this one wrong.

    Looking at the finish again:

    - The shot that rocked Groves was a wrist to the temple right?
    - Groves's 'Bambi on ice' legs were actually the results of Froch's (unintentional) pushes, followed by the referee's headlock. So it was an even worse stoppage than I thought. Might he have gone down, or gotten stopped late a la Froch-Taylor? Maybe. But, not close to a stoppage.

    I could tell by the way Jim Watt was looking at Groves in his post weigh in interview how the commentary was going to go. It seems like Watt has never liked Carl Froch.
    It was Groves' fight though.
