People were wrong, it happens in boxing, nobody on here can say they have never go a fight horribly wrong. I never doubted Groves' talent, I felt this came to soon.

Groves was awesome, but is froch going to get any credit for coming back the way he did. Forget the ref, froch showed what a champion he is and the 10 years difference does count

Fair play shenmue, you went a bit hard on the build up but I think you realise that now

Good post, Froch took a hell of a beating but stayed in there was getting the best of it in rounds 8 and 9. Just such a poor ending.

George Groves just proved himself at world level. If Froch has the balls to take the rematch then Froch is going to be put on his arse again and probably won't get back up. I didn't doubt Groves before the fight, I've seen his previous fights and saw how clever, fast and hard he punches. Credit to Froch for taking them but second time round he won't.

To sum up it, Froch looked old and slow but he was saved by his chin and the stupid ref.

I was about to call you out after I'd been saying all week Groves would win.

Fair play to you for posting that :good

The ending of the fight is a disgrace. I have been saying for a long time that alongside Darren Barker that Groves is the technical fighter in Britain.

Frankly I cannot give credit to Froch for this fight only that he took his beating until ref intervened in his favor.

George done what I thought he would and beat froch in every area

The ref could of stopped froch in any one of the other rounds if he was so concerned about a boxer getting hurt as George had hurt and shook him up in all of the other rounds

The stoppage was a complete joke
He was fine / had been caught yeh but was fine

Ahead by a mile in a fight that wasn't even close

Or at least that's how the boxing public seen it

    Even froch fans

So George should of been allowed to go out on his back

After all it was for a world title

    Good thread

Groves proved me and alot of people wrong tonight and deserves credit for that.

Groves was doing a better job than Ward did on Froch up until the "stoppage"...

Cheers, and yes i agree. If you check my post history i never really go in hard for a winner of a fight. I was really bored at work and was having fun on the forums. But under all the over the top posts and fun i really did think froch would win easily enough.

Sometimes you have to admit your failings but Boxing can be unpredictable, it was for me tonight but not to some who kept telling me all week that groves would be compettitive. You all know who you are so fair play.:good

Good that you acknowledge that you were very over-confident and underestimated Groves. I was very impressed with Groves. He didn't run and did take the fight to Froch and land multiple right hands like he said. Everyone was saying the 'reality has dawned on him', 'he looked scared' 'it's a mismatch' etc it sure didn't look that way. Groves handled the whole occasion admirably.

Wow take the **** for a month out of anyone with a different opinion then in being proven wrong you only have to write a semi revisionist post and you get your arse kissed haha weird

I have lost respect for Froch and I have gained respect for Groves..........There should be a rematch ASAP, as the referee ruined the fight for everyone.............

Shenmue fair play for being a man about it and admitting you were wrong, most posters just abandon the forums. I also thought froch would walk this fight easily, groves proved he was world class and as you say might have won the last 3 rounds and taken a wide decision, we'll never know thanks to foster.

It warrants a rematch as it was a great fight, although I'm more interested now to see groves vs ward just to see if he causes him problems
