Any of that is a waste of time, probably done for photographers, unless you can see a situation in which you would stand up in front of a guy and pitty-pat like that? The double end bag is fun and all, but it isn't necessary.

If you work on it, practice circling in both directions, working your jab, then the right hand, then the hook. You can get some benefit from learning to turn your punches over within the constraints of distance (because it is different on long range punches and up close punches). You can also work on timing punches like the uppercut, followed by the hook, and so on.
But you'll have to move around and figure that out because those videos are useless.

    Waste of time? Ludicrous.

They're all working on different things obviously, Rios is just doing busy work and trying to lose weight, Ward the same.

The common feature in all vids is........ CONTROL. The double end bag isn't necessary, necessarily, because fighters were successful before they became a tool. It is a great tool though, and something which hones your timing, sense of distance, power modulation, defense/countering, and control.

Those dudes, whethere they're just patty-caking or practicing combos, are in control of that bag. Theyre practicing punch selection based on their hand position and the bag's direction and location in space, all in fractions of a second.

I can hit that bag as good as just about anybody, and that's poof it won't make you a world-beater, but it can't hurt. It only helps.

My advice is to just start hitting it. It won't bounce straight if you don't hit it straight. It won't sound right unless you hit it right. Its a self-correcting bag. Just start practicing and you'll get to the point where you can do everything you see in those vids...

start working it with your jab- this is what I did way way back when, the first time i started hitting one- circling left, then right. Then drop the right hand. the thing with the double end bag, always hit it as it comes to you.
You'll be able to if you are getting your punches turned by where on your hands they land. Do you see? You want them to land on the middle and index knuckles- if they are landing on the outside knuckles, you are too wide/too slow with your punches. This bag is real good for teaching that.
