Anyone interested in that fight now instead of a froch rematch(has he earned a ward fight with that showing)? Might be a slow chess match but I think groves might give ward something to think about, anyone else agree?
Would be a good fight, but Ward will not fight outside his home town, with his referee, judges, boxing commission, etc., so it would be an up hill battle as Groves would have to fight the referee and judges as well as Ward.
Groves needs another year to be ready, imo. He fought brilliantly vs Froch but did lose his head a bit at the end even if the stoppage was premature. He can't afford to do that vs. Ward who isn't a slow, rugged guy like Froch. Groves needs to give himself time and then he could have a great future.
i dont know, groves seemed to be happy getting grabbed everytime froch got in close. that wont win him the fight against ward, who uses the grab a lot as part of his style.
I honestly would be more interested in seeing this fight then Ward GGG... Groves had this fight 100%... got stupid and hunted for the knockout instead of boxing and allowing it to come to him. He got overconfident and traded with Froch when there was no need to. Even considering that the stoppage was terrible. Groves is fast, has power and has a sturdy chin. I think we will see this fight eventually.
