maybe it would be good to take this burden from the refs, most of them English lads are clearly unable to judge when someone is in danger or unable to defend, don't know why.
they do not know how resilient a fighter is, how important the fight is for them.
the guys in the corner know better when it's time to quit let them make the decision...

    see pacquiao-margarito

tony could have been actively fighting until now if not of his corner.

Well the corner of Mago didnt stop it so maybe the ref should have. Refs should have the right to stop the fight. The ref for Groves Froch was just incompetent.

No, the 3rd man in the ring should know what's best for the health of the fighters. Its good that a non related person to both camps has a say to it to avoid serious physical injury. We had plenty of sad stories and we don't certainly want to increase its numbers.

Yes, the only sensible approach. Because if the ref lets it go on, the corner always has the option to toss in the towel.

    :rofl

Why not go the whole hog and let the boxers themselves decide..

    Who needs refs anyway!

    theres no fine line
either the fight is stopped way to early like groves/froch
or its stopped too late or not at all

    No, refs should be impartial.
