Froch's Chin: Maybe Not as Sturdy as We Thought?

At one point in the fight, Froch was blocking boomers with his chin. I couldn't believe that he was not getting down with those shots. Froch's chin is made of granit, despite the kd.

 

I think Froch chin has actually improved.

Thing is, Ironically, I think how easy Froch was to hit played a big part in Groves losing the fight.

Groves could see the KO, especially after the first round... and he chased it. With every shot that landed and with every opportunity Froch left with his wide open guard, Groves could see the glory. If not for that fact, I think groves gets out of those tear ups on the ropes and gets back to picking Froch apart.

 

Getting decked doesnt mean you have a bad chin unless it happens all the time and vs light punchers. Froch was hit flush and cleanly full on with a massive right hand from a big puncher any other smw would not have got up,i didnt think froch would he fell heavy.

He got nailed on the button while standing straight up not in a good position to absorb the blow = got dropped.

That's boxing folks.

 

It certainly isn't an Iron Chin. Well, maybe for a Brit it is. But on a World level Iron Chinned fighters don't get dropped like that.

 

LOL. I would say that Froch's chin is much better than Calzaghe's who as I recall, got drop and hurt in Round 1 by an old, old man.

Ok so Froch has a great chin, that is quite clear. Thing that confuses me is that it gets talked about so much here as if it were some kind of mutant superpower that only he possesses.
Just looking at the top 10 in his division alone there are at least 3 other guys that have proven punch resistance akin to his.
Kessler, Chavez jr and oosthuzen have all stood up to some good shots without ever being KO'D

A guy takes copious amount of shots flush on the button and especially to get up off the shot in the 1st round, and you question his chin... hahaha

so glen johnson doesnt iron chin he got dropped. or ndou he got dropped by feather fist pauli. getting knocked down doent mean he does not have an iron chin, it is how you recover from it
