It was the first time I saw him last night - oh dear I presume Sauerland do due diligence before giving out contracts. Anyone seen him before? I simpy assume he has been fed bums to get to 30 odd - 0 and an opponent of lower fringe class could clearly outpoint him Pulev - does look good, but is too small for Klitchko Hellenius got a good record through careful match making until Delboy found him out Pianeta - Looked OK before Wlad destroyed Now Price has joined the conveyer belt. Anyone see much future for Boytsov?
Frank and Chisora must be gutted they didn't get their hands on the Boytsev as no doubt Dereck would have beaten him fairly easily and nabbed his WBO number 1 ranking. Boytsov was a promising prospect 5 years ago when he was only 22 years old, like many other i thought he was going to make some real noise in the Heavyweight world but unfortunately a combination of injuries and his commitment to training stalled his career and i doubt he'll ever make the most of that early promise which is a shame. I think Pulev is a good heavyweight, the rest of them are pretty much done.
Pulev is the definite number three in the division now Haye has seemingly retired. He's a bit dull to watch at times but gets the job done.
Taped the German bill and watched it today.From what I read about Boytsov I assumed he was a bit of a handful.Saw him for the first time.I hope Tyson Fury was watching it,don't retire you'll beat both these.After his 2 or 3 rehab fights,so would Dave Price.
Actually it was originally Chagaev, although he never was a KO artist. Then when Boytsov came along, he 'borrowed' that moniker in the press and on message boards - although I'm not sure it ever became an official ring name (as in, embroidered on his trunks or shown on TV graphics or even listed on his Boxrec page) - which relieved everybody back then, since at least now it was a big puncher with blazing fast hands and an aggressive disposition being called such. Nevermind that Boytsov was already then further along in his career than Kid Dynamite when he became Undisputed Champion...and that was 4-5 years of squandered potential ago. Boytsov like Guzman pissed away his prime and probably would have always lost to either Klitschko anyway even if his full potential was realized.
He was never a championship material for me! Looked good against totally spent opponents, who hardly offered any resistance. Then came the injuries, but worst of all - he started to believe his own hype and lost interest in boxing and motivation. True - without hum earning it, his promoters got him close to a title shot. And then an aggressive and hungry, though somewhat limited fighter, exposed him as mediocre. Bum he certainly isn't, actually during the few seconds he actually boxed, he did show why many people thought he had a potential. For the whole 60 seconds, during which he actually boxed. He knew he was losing and still could not be arsed to do more. That's what really put me off. He almost got a title shot - another reminder that there is something terribly wrong with HW at the moment. The current system is obviously sick and needs a shock therapy!
Boytsov is only 27 so quite how he has pissed away his prime considering he's a heavyweight is a bit far fetched. It wasn't a great performance on Saturday and to me it looked as though his physical fitness was to blame but he can come back from this. I saw him as I was leaving the Arena. He was sat on his own in one of the seats while the crew were packing everything up. He looked truly disappointed and just sat there deep in thought. Maybe his personal issues are playing too much on his mind - he's in court today.
Pulev is not small for Wlad, he looks deceptively small, but in reality isn't - he's only 2 inches shorter than Wlad and has only 1 inch reach disadvantage. His frame is naturally big and stocky and that's why he doesn't look tall. In reality he's 6'5. Also in his last fights he's been heavier than Wlad in his last fights.
