Deal with it; because he was. He was robbed not Groves. Only Froch haters think otherwise. Groves was close to doing a zab judah chicken dance!
As stupid as it sounds I think it's not far from the truth, Froch looked stronger and stronger, and we all know that his finishing skills are first class. Groves had his chance when he was landing 5-punch combos flush and couldn't take him out. You have to wonder what would happen if Froch got to do it to Groves.
Groves took Froch to school and the stoppage was definitely too early BUT i also think he was struggling and would have gone down if the ref had waited a little longer. A rematch really should take place if Froch wants to show who's the best Brit.
Incorrect. Groves was rocked, but not "out on his feet". Watch closely, arm up defending, ducking to avoid further blows. Ref grabs GG while he's ducking and frotch pushes him off balance with a right hand. Groves thinks the ref is breaking them up, instantly reacts when he realizes its been stopped. Frotch was blasted the rounds before, I gave him one round max, totally outclassed and for some reason the ref stops the fight at the very first opportunity.
Agreed, Froch would have stopped him in these last 3 rounds, Groves was gassing and Froch was starting to catch him more and more not to mention that Froch is always strong in the later rounds.
I don't think so. He landed a few punches and dazed Groves a bit. People are getting carried away because Froch has stopped a couple of guys.
I feel quite bad for Froch because he was going to stop Groves. No question about it. But in the same sense, it was all his own fault! He needed he ego knocking down a peg or two to be fair. He wasn't mentally prepared for the fight. He honestly had no idea what Groves could do. And when he found out he had no idea what to do. McCracken should take alot of the blame as well even though I love him as a trainer. Froch/McCracken prepared for Groves to run all night, saw no way of Groves knocking Carl out and only admitted that Groves could make Froch look a little silly pre fight. They had no idea what to do when Groves started stalking him... at one point Froch used an orthodox style and kept on staring into his corner. They had no plan B! Had Froch came out warm, confident, respectful of Groves and most of all cautious boxing behind the jab and making it ugly by holding/wrestling his opponent for the first 3/4 rounds, the fight would of been a different story. Groves knew this. Thats why he wound Froch up. To make him aggressive/arrogant/foolish so he would open himself up for right hands and come square. Then when he realised what he was in for (knockdown), his pride would be hurt, he'd loose his main weapons (uppercut/jab) and go into survival mode. Really clever looking back. But all Froch's fault. You can't just make an adjustment in the middle of a fight if you havnt prepared for it prior to the fight then you can't adjust in the fight. No matter how good you are. The end result is people overrating Groves too highly and Frochs been made to look to stupid. Amazing performance by Groves, Atrocious from Froch. Lets have a rematch!
Groves was clearly hurt, he was knocked off balance twice, the second time he held on twice to try and clear his head. He was then punched into the ropes, which prevented him from going down and Froch was landing flush and in combination near the end. I'm sure Groves would have gone down at the very least. After the ref released him he fell into the ropes and actually took a knee. He was hurt and his legs were not steady. If I had to put money on who was going to win at that point it would have been Froch. We've seen Froch take huge shots before and prevail and it looked like he was going to do it again.
you cant say it was going to be a KO. it was likely though, froch hits evil. but you cannot say for definite, not even close. ref should have checked him up before calling it off.
i agree, groves was slowing down and Froch was coming on. 3 1/2 rounds left? its a pretty logical assumption Froch was going to stop him within the limit. Groves was becoming more stationary the last 2 rounds before the end and getting caught more often as well. Froch did stop taylor in round 12 and i had him down in that fight.
Froch was the only one who was dropped that night and he was dropped like a lil *****. Froch landed 2 clean punches prior to the stoppage.
