HWD has been heating up for awhile and just another great match up. :deal I think a lot of people will say Jennings but I don't think he has the skill's and power to keep that monster from moving forward and landing shot's. If Jennings wins its gonna be a great outing for him on HBO and show us some real boxing skills. Wach isn't the best around but the guy did go 12 round with WK and hurt him at one point. Wach wins in the 8th round and Jennings will be looking great and promising but will crumble from the size and power. Will be on the pascal bute undercard
Wach late stoppage. I don't think Jennings has been tested enough yet and I would see Wilder as a much better American prospect despite being similarly not tested. Having said that a lot will depend on how Wach fairs without (presumably) steroids. Jennings so far has just looked alright to me, I've yet to see signs of him being the next big contender.
Horrible matchup decision by team Jennings, latest in a string of bad decisions. Wach ko 9. I still don't think it will happen, but then maybe team Jennings is just that dumb. Wach isn't ranked or respected as a top 15 HW, a victory won't indisputably establish Jennings as a contender or put him in a mandatory spot. And frankly, this is a bad matchup for Jennings and I see this ending in a brutal ko by Wach over Jennings. He could have fought Adamek, Pulev, Fury, all for way more money way more respect and or mandatory positioning, and comparable risk, especially Adamek. Plus, losses with them had a better chance of being by decision, as opposed to ko. Anyway, Wach has done better with better opposition than Jennings, can take anything Jennings can offer, and if Bowie freakin Tupou can knock Jennings down, I really don't see Jennings lasting a full fight without getting ko'd. The shot Wach gave Wlad would kick Jennings out of the ring, and Jennings defense isn't nearly as good as Wlad's.
From a stylistic standpoint this could be a good match up. Potentially bad match making by Wach's team though, because Wach could be too slow and rusty for Jennings, especially since he's using Jennings as a comeback fight after the loss to Wlad. Unless Wach can spark Jennings out, he'll probably lose a decision. And Montreal would be an odd place for these two to fight, but it may potentially get shown on HBO so it would be good exposure.
That's a sick ko. If Wach connects with that shot or with the shot he caught Wlad, Jennings will fly out of the ring. BJ was actually hurt badly against Bowie Tipou.
Interesting fight. My first instinct is Jennings on points, but it really wouldn't surprise me if Wach KO's him.
jennings is like the heavyweight version of Lamont Peterson ie - very average all amercans heavyweights are pathetic and there are so many of them wach is gonna destroy him only chance Jennings has is if they make the fight a 8 rounder or a 6 rounder
Yeah, Jennings would have a good chance in a 6 rounder, otherwise he's gone. Disagree about the American HW jab, though, there are 5 or 6 good American HW's who could beat Jennings and a couple who could beat Wach.
