I'd rather see Ruslan vs Garcia. Rios has just gone through three tough fights in a row. Rios should go down to 140 and fight one of the other champs or contenders.

But rips doesn't deserve another big title fight coming off a loss. There are plenty of others out there who do deserve it

Provodnikov would knock Rios out, he would also knock Alvarado out as well as Danny Garcia. Provodnikov was cheated by Bradley's referee out of a knockdown early in the fight. Provodnikov left Bradley on the canvas at the end of the fight and yet Bradley's judges gave a decision to Bradley. Provodnikov would knock Bradley out in a rematch...............

I totally agree with you, but he evidently had problems making 147.

I'd bbe afraid to watch the fight almost.. I actually like Rios,he seems alright.... Provodnikov would end Rios career. Rios cant dodge like Bradley, nor would he likely have the wisdom to quit at the right time like Alvarado.

Ruslan may have a very attack oriented style, but make no mistake he is an A level fighter. Rios is a B level fighter with A++ level heart and chin, not a good matchup for him.

It is a fight almost guaranteed to end up with one or both fighters battered and bloody. As you point out, Provodnikov is the better boxer and IMO probably the more resilient fighter as well, and I'm pretty sure that Ruslan would win this but (in the wake of the Mago tragedy) it's almost a worrying fight to consider.

    judah, matthysse and now ruslan?

    cmon, man

no champ deserves three tough fights in a row.

and rios put everything into the paq fight and the two alvarado fights

he deserves a break as well.

Rios is strong and tough, and seems hard to out brawl. But Provo is just a physical freak. And his skills have progressed to the point where I think he would wreck Rios. And that is not said lightly.

As for this fight coming off....... Not so sure they'd give Provo a guy coming off 2 L's for his 1st defense. Maybe a few fights down the road. They say Provo likes fresh fish.

Brutal fight for both guys.. especially Rios. I'm not the biggest fan of Brandon, but I don't like to see anyone with permanent brain damage. He needs a rest and to fight a few soft touches before anything like Provo would be considered.

This would be an awesome fight, I'd expect it to be back and forth for the most part but after seeing what Provodnikov did to Alvarado its hard for me to picture Rios not eventually breaking down under the ferocious non-stop attack of Provodnikov. Though it is also hard to imagine Rios being taken out after seeing the beating he endured from Pacquiao and he never even looked close to going down. Still my prediction would be Provodnikov by either a late KO or decision though Rios has a chance of winning a decision if he can go the distance.

I hope Rios doesn't accept this fight. It would be a good fight but I think Ruslan would win. Rios needs to fight someone a little below Ruslan and get another win under his belt.

Just what Brandon needs. Another brutal beating and more brain damage. :-(
