We don't hear about the non televised events at small hall shows that go on week in week out up and down the country. All of hearns shows are live on sky sports and so any decision that may be debatable in terms of judging or refereeing will be under the spotlight.

I can only really think of the Beltran Burns fight and the weekends fight that are controversial.

    only 1 really. Burns.

The others were close fights so dont get the point of the thread.

    Eddie Hearn is the devil.

He learnt all the tricks from his slimeball dad Barry who put on some of the worst mismatches in British boxing history especially with the Eubank and Naz title defences. Just ask Michael Watson what he thinks of the 'Hearns' as people! They are accountants and only care about the money, Eddie has stated that the only reason he's involved in boxing is because of the Sky deal and if that ran out he would be out of the sport. Now Frank has committed alot of bad things to do with British boxing but at least he's a boxing man through and through and also done many good things for the sport including supporting grass roots boxing, putting on charity boxing events and using his own money for better medical safety for british fighters.

Eddie Hearn is a public school boy who bullied his weaker classmates and comes across as a 'Man of the people' even though he had a privilaged upbringing. He's pulled the wool over the fans eyes by telling them what they want to hear and then doing the opposite to fit his own agender. He's also a snake in the grass who loves stealing boxers from other promoters who did all the hard work in bringing them along. Let's not forget many of his domestic british shows are delivering the lowest sky boxing viewing figures on record and if it wasn't for Carl Froch, Kell Brook and PrizeFighter he'd be dead in the water.

Hearn knows all the right people to pay in order to get the right results just like his dad did for those title defences Eubanks should have lost.

For the Burns vs Beltran fight we had the judge Carlos Ortiz Jr scored the fight to Ricky Burns 115-112 which is a criminal scorecard. A bit of checking reveals that the same judge had also worked Geale vs Barker and scored in favour of Barker...i bet Hearn wined and dined him after that fight and gave him a nice little bonus for it and then made sure he came over to Britain to be a 'friendly' judge for the Burns fight.

Now for the Groves vs Froch fight we had a judge called Massimiliano Bianco who had the Groves-Froch fight nearly even, once again a bit of checking reveals that the only two fights he judged in 2013 had both been Eddie Hearn shows. Once again a 'Friendly' judge was brought in to make sure of his fighters victory.

Hearn, Foster, the judges and BBBofC all need need to be investigated and have their financial documents looked at and scrutinized in order to stop the image of British boxing being seen as a corrupt and dirty sport.

At least Dana White comes out and rips the **** out of the commission. Can't see Ed doing the same!

There have been some bad ones lately. Burns is the one that stands out, and obviously the scorecards for Froch-Groves too. Could add Bellew-Chilemba 1, although that was an awkward one to score. Before lately though I would have said that the standard of judging in this country isn't too bad in comparison to the rest of the world.

I still see poor referees rather than judges as the more prevalent issue in British boxing. That isn't exclusive to Hearn shows either. What happened with the stoppage in Chisora-Scott as well as the ref carrying Clev back to the corner against Kovalev was laughably bad.

It's the smaller level fights that are more often affected than the big box office ones (probably why nowhere near enough has ever been made of this issue) but all the same, the problem of premature stoppages by British referees (which are practically always in favour of the British/marquee participant in the fight) is what people need to shine a light on more so than the judging imo.

    excellent post ,well put....

i had forgot about some of the Eubank dodgy decisions but i must say Hearn is making money for his boxers and keeping their interests a priority so its a double edged sword really i suppose

Not to mention the Eubank Benn draw, when Hearn had signed a deal for Don King to take the winner and loser of the fight...

That's the beauty of Boxrec, you can do alot of fact checking and find out what refs have judged which fights and on which shows.

I'm not saying Eddie is any worse then Frank who is hardly clean himself but if i had to say the differences i'd say the Hearns just see boxing as a way to make money wheras i think Frank cares deeply about boxing even though i think he's been a terrible businessman in the past and paid way over the top for fights or boxers signing on fees that has meant alot of his past promotional companies have gone under.

I would also add though that i think an opponent versus the house fighter gets a fairer deal on a Frank promotion then they do on a Hearn promotion.

Had James Degale been promoted by Hearn for the Groves fight, i bet he would have got the decision rather then losing it. With Frank some of his house fighters get a win in close fights and some of them lose. For all the things Frank can be accused of, one thing is that he keeps a clean house regarding judges and officials.

Bellew was given a gift vs. Chilemba, Rose vs. Maciel, Burns vs. Beltran, also Froch Kessler 2 could have went either way but in no way did anyone win it 118-110 or 116-112 and that on the weekend was another shocker.

You also have to remember the premature stoppages like the Jackiewicz one versus Brook which was also reffed by Howard Foster!

The fact is though most Eddie Hearn promotions are usually mismatches or ones where his fighter will look good against. Just look at Kell Brooks recent opponents, all powder puff punches:

    Lovemore Ndou
    Carson Jones
    Vyacheslav Senchenko
    Rafal Jackiewicz
    Hector David Saldivia
    Matthew Hatton

When was the last time Hearn brought over an unbeaten natural born killer for one of his fighters like a Kovalev, Kessler or Lacy that were 50-50 fights or even made his fighter the underdog?

I just feel bad for Groves, a young man that had his moment of glory taken away from him and i just hope he recovers and doesn't let what appears to be something very dodgy from stopping him being a World champion in the future.

At 25 years old, Groves has the world at his feet and will only get better.
