As far as I'm aware he has no promoter as his deal ended with Matchroom. He didn't seem too friendly with Eddie post fight either.
Sky's where the money is. If he wins the Froch rematch he could well be a regular ppv star with them. Sky is also the best platform for marketing a fighter to the wider public and casual fanbase (primarily through their large scale advertising and SSN). Hearn has Sky so it's no contest - Groves should stick with Hearn
It will be interesting. In the build up to the fight, when pressed on it, Hearn used the line that it wouldn't have been appropriate to negotiate a new deal during the build up to Saturday, but that he fully intended to sort a new deal out with George after the fight. That was clearly him being a diplomat to keep open the possibility in the event that Groves went and won the fight. Truth is that if the rematch IS agreed for the next fight, Groves won't strictly need a promoter for that either, although he'll go into the fight again knowing that the ref/judges are likely to favour to Froch again. In terms of Britain, it's hard to see who else he could go with other than matchroom. Lots of rumours about certain other promoters not paying their fighters, not to mention fighters being unhappy at stagnating and not getting career progression. Sauerland as a possibility. If Hearn has any sense he'll see the writing on the wall for Froch, and will sign Groves up before the rematch and afford him the same "support mechanism" that Froch seemed to enjoy on Saturday night.
The Froch rematch is the biggest money earner for him right now so i think he should sign up with Hearn for 1 fight and then leave when he wins. I think Goldenboy would be a good fit for him especially as they could make a fight with Sakio Bika although it would mean not fighting Andre Ward and Chavez jr who are HBO fighters so Toprank could well be the best option short-term. American boxing is crying out for a talented, exciting and marketable english speaking white male boxer so i think Groves could become a superstar in America.
Maybe but as Solaris pointed out, Groves did make it clear that Hearn wasn't his promoter during interviews and the build up for the Froch fight. I doubt with everything that took place in that fight and afterwards is making him think that Hearn would have his best interests at heart or be fair to him longterm.
I think he might do like Haye/Cotto. Hes stock and demand has risen to the point where he can basically decide who he wants to work for. He can stay as a free agent much like Haye did. (I know he had Hayemaker promotions-stuff going on, but that never really meant ****)
Wouldn't be surprised to see him sign with Goldenboy, they've showed interest in him in the past and Schaefer etc all said how impressed they were with him when he fought over there... think it was the Sierra fight.
It would be if he only signed up for one fight - his last deal with Hearn only a 3 fight deal, and it also had a time limit on it, and ended up effectively only being a 2 fight deal. That said, there would be next to no point in signing a one fight deal with Hearn if that fight was against another Hearn fighter i.e. Froch.
