    Absolute BULL****!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lennox Claudius Lewis was born in West Ham London ENGLAND. This makes him not only ENGLISH but a ****NEY to boot
I know this niggles all the colonnials here because Lennox was without a doubt the best heavyweight champ since Muhammad Ali. He beat every man that faced him in the pro ring.
Its time HRH said " Arise Sir Lennox Knight of the Realm"

Those 2 losses were entirely Lennox own fault , but he certainly got revenge in the rematches. That pic of Rahman out cold flat on his back his head fitting perfectly in the crown on Kings logo was a classic :rofl
Ruiz was a joke Byrd a blown up middleweight. Kirk Johnson Ko'd Ruiz but was robbed by the crooked man Joe Cortez. Ike Ibeabuchi nearly decapitated Byrd If he'd fought them you'd have claimed he was cherry pickin' :patsch

More BULL****!!! Don King gave Lennox $4 mil to step aside & let Tyson fight Holyfield first because Vander was considered the easier fight. The agreement being Lennox would be next in line for Tyson. That night in Tokyo ruined that deal Vander wasn't interested in honoring it either was he:lol:
Anyway I'll bet you were just a twinkle in your momma's eye when all this happened :D I was there

Have you ever seen me giving unconditional support to an American heavyweight?

In any case, here are the words of his own trainer Emanuel Steward:

"They decided that it would be great for him, since he had been born in England, even though he had never boxed in England and didn’t have that strong of a tie, that they would use his birthplace of England. That was because there was more money with the British Pound than with the Canadian Dollar. So that’s why they decided to export his career and have him start fighting back in England. That’s also why he never did get the full blessing or grace of the British fans, because he didn’t represent them in the Olympics and things, like they did with Frank Bruno and those types of guys. It took time for him to get the British people to really get behind him, but eventually it happened when he ended up knocking out Bruno, and knocking out Mason, and all of those guys over there. Lennox always would do what he had to do to win."

Too bad Lennox had to drag McCall out of a crackhouse and relied on him having a mental breakdown in the ring in order to win. McCall was crying, arms down at his sides taking flush shots and Lennox couldn't drop him. Real boss.

Bowe offered Lewis something like a 90/10 or 80/20 split of the purse in Bowe favour for the fight then dumped the WBC Title in the trash instead of fighting him. Then he spent the year fighting two no-hopers while his manager made noises about a Lewis fight but didn't really do anything to make one and instead set up Bowe/Holyfield 2.

The next year there was talk of Bowe dropping the WBO title to challenge Lewis for the WBC but Lewis lost to McCall scarpering that and Bowe would soon get beaten up in two fights with Golota and retire.

The contract for Lewis/Holyfield 2 stated that the WBA mandatory got the first shot against the winner. The WBA mandatory at the time was Henry Akinwande and that was not a viable fight due to Ankinwande's non-performance against Lewis before. Holyfield was next in the WBA's ranking but having just lost decisively to Lewis two time he wasn't a viable fight either. So the WBA reimagined their ranking to move Ruiz up to #1

Michael Grant was #2 in the IBF, HBO's poster-boy prospect, the most exiting potential match-up for Lewis except Tyson. Lewis signed to fight him and the WBA agreed to put his fight against Ruiz back, but then Don King stepped in and took Lewis to court to get him stripped of the WBA Title for not defending againt Ruiz.

Lewis was prepared to fight Ruiz and would have done so if King and Ruiz had allowed him to fight Grant first, but they were not prepared to do that.

It was a question of Byrd or Tyson at the time and Lewis picked the bigger money, higher profile fight. Additionally there were stories at the time of King giving Lewis money and a new car not to fight Byrd. So if Byrd's promoter was actively trying not to make the fight happen then Lewis cannot be said to have ducked him.

Foreman admitted he wanted nothing to do with Lewis in the 1990's.

When Moorer beat Holyfield he was asked if he intended to fight Lewis to unify all the titles. His response was basically "nobody tells me what to do" then he went and made what he believed would be an easy fight against Foreman. After rebuilding his career he was content to be just the IBF Champion and showed no interest whatsoever in fighting Lewis. Then he lost to Holyfield and retired.

Witherspoon was not a top heavyweight in the 1990's. He did not manage one single fight for any world title - including the secondary WBO title - nor did he manage a single win over any top name of the era - in fact, the biggest names of the 1990's he fought were Ray Mercer and Andrew Golota.

There were negotiations between Jones and Lewis, just like there were between Jones and Holyfield and Jones and Tyson, they just came to nothing. Lewis struggled with Vitali and was forced to accept his decline and was retired within a year while Jones, after beating Ruiz, turned his attention to Tarver who was making noises about beating him at Light Heavyweight and had dropped back down a division before a year had even passed.

That was nothing to do with Lewis. Lewis was WBC mandatory when Tyson dumped the belt to go fight Holyfield. The WBC chose McCall as his opponent for the vacant title, it was not a fight that Lewis specificially picked McCall out of the ranks for, he had no say in who he fought and had no control over what state McCall was in when he entered the ring. He could only fight what was put in front of him.

When McCall suffered one of this break-downs and was arrested and sent to rehab in December of 1996 Lewis, his promoter and the TV execitives all expressed their concern that McCall wasn't in any fit state to make the fight and Lewis's promoter requested King find a replacement. Don King instead promised that McCall was fine and would be 100% ready for his fight with Lewis. If anyone should carry the blame for McCall being put in the ring in that state then it should be King.
